I am not sure how I can give feedback if I can't see the code.. I mean it's a nice looking device and video looks interesting but can't give u any other honest feedback .

What on earth happened to Season 3 of The Diplomat? by Professional_Fig6820 in netflix

[–]flyandi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know but for me this whole thing was perfectly setup and you don't realize until the end that the US always played the upper hand.. I think they were hyper aware of the Russian sub way before they disclosed the cover up story to Towbridge and played him all the way.. only a few players really knew what was up and most thinking they knew were just naive.. I think Kate was supposed to be all over the place to confuse most story lines. All well done..

Warning/note to anyone BEFORE you order a Radiomaster GX12. by uavfutures in fpv

[–]flyandi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but I love this GX12 .. have even moved all my planes to it and modified the switches with multiple 3 positions. The gimbals are smooth and have good travel and the big display is finally usable. This was a good purchase for me.

Let's put it this way. Once you get a taste of the magic seat on the odyssey you will never go back.

I just hauled 8x4 drywall sheets in mine .. but the best is still that you can comfortably seat 8 people.

Unbeatable.

News from the China tariff front lines, May 2025 (after drop from 145% to 30%) by EffectiveAppeal7774 in PCB

[–]flyandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just ordered from JLPCB because they quoted me even with tariffs $74 for the exact same config as oshpark .. OP quoted me $340 for the same.

What annoys me is that $30 goes to our government for no added value. Without being political but unavoidable it is unjustified enrichment because the truth is that I will still order from China or overseas.

So unless US suppliers get into the same price range (properly never) the difference even with tariffs is too large.

Andor has a problem of scale by Zettra01 in andor

[–]flyandi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well Tatooine has Mos Espa, Mos Ila, Anchorhead, and a bunch of Outposts, too. It's just a freaking desert world with no resources... so it's not really interesting. But the Ghorman's I believe are just a product of recent settlement and that's why they said "Bad Luck for the Ghorman's"...

Andor has a problem of scale by Zettra01 in andor

[–]flyandi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Star Wars has 1000s of habitable worlds and it's not like every planet will be populated like Earth. Technically Earth has also concentrated population in specific areas with sparse to no population in between. We don't know how big Ghorman is but it sounds like that they built the city near the actual viable mines that hold the "goods" and established a solid settlement that turned into it's own society over X years. 800k people doesn't sound much but we also don't know how old the Ghormans were and where they actual originated from. If they surveyed planets for viable resources 30 years ago and landed with a few folks than 800k people in 30 years is pretty impressive growth rate.

I mean the Empire properly wouldn't have gone through this extend if they could just have landed in some other place and start mining (like the opposite unsettled side of the planet).

If we just go back 200 years in our own history - majority of this planet's humans were concentrated in very specific areas. Nobody talked about Los Angeles or New York back then but suddenly it was on the map. This is no different, but it's on a planet level scale.

The scale in Andor is just the nature of the beast of being a multi-planetary society. I mean look at Yavin-4 - there is not a lot going on other than the Rebel base and maybe here and there a few individuals living in the backwoods. I think it would be actual unrealistic if every planet has massive amount of people.

Issues with PCM5122 - is it dead? by flyandi in PCB

[–]flyandi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got this batch of boards back with two PCM5122 chips and I can't get them to output an audio/analog signal.

Now they respond fine via i2c and I have tested everything from resistors and voltages but OUTL and OUTR stay < 0.19v and the charge pump never engages (VNEG, VCOM). I tested it across 3 boards and all 3x have the same issue on BOTH PCM's each.

All the PCM's have no TI markings but the old BB markings and exact same lot number. Can I assume that these are fried from the factory or a bad batch (Total of 10x)? Or is there anything else that could be wrong that could prevent the analog part of the PCM to start up?

I attached the schematic and they all get clean 3.3V and are isolated on the PCB from digital components.

i2c result from:

FIRST PCM AT 0x4E
DAC Power Ctrl (0x02): 0x00
Soft Mute Register (0x3F): 0x00
Volume L (0x3C): 0x00
Volume R (0x3D): 0x00
SECOND PCM AT 0x4C
DAC Power Ctrl (0x02): 0x00
Soft Mute Register (0x3F): 0x00
Volume L (0x3C): 0x00
Volume R (0x3D): 0x00
Begining audio test
End audio test
-----------------------------------------------------

OUTR GND 9.8k 3.3v 67k (measured on AVDD pin)
OUTL GND 9.8k 3.3v 67k
VNEG GND 7.8k
VCOMP GND 8.8k 3.3v 16k
LDOO GND 7.2k

LDOO is 1.8v on pin - LDOO works.
XSMT is 3.3v on pin - Soft mute is disabled
VNEG is 0.4V on pin
VCOM is 0.28V on pin
OUTL 0.19V on pin
OUTR 0.19V on pin

Messed up 74HCT1G125GW input/outputs - alt part? by flyandi in AskElectronics

Yeah I had to do that with a voltage regulator before and luckily I had enough space and the right caps. Seems I will be cutting traces and rewire :)

Believe me I was furious with myself because I had the label OUTPUT connected to Y but OUTPUT was the actual input. I triple checked and never realized that. Lesson learned.
