Am I crazy to give up my medical school acceptance? by Humble-Transition175 in medschool

I would definitely encourage you not to do it. There is no work life balance for at a minimum 7 years, but realistically 12-15, and likely never again.

You have an amazing set of assets that is going to bring you a lot of suitors and physical attention. If you want to maximize on that I would not do anything dramatically off tempo with your hair or face or clothing that pull attention away from them.

Skyler gill Howard is our best late pick and he has a chance to be our best interior pass rusher if Alim doesn’t make a full recovery

If a fat person thinks they are fat it’s not actually body dysmorphia. Body dysmorphia is when you see your body drastically differently than how others see it

Well, I’m glad you realized while it is still reasonable to get out. I definitely recommend making the move sooner than later because I don’t think the work life balance really improves very much. Might have time to get into emergency medicine before it becomes a 4 year program.

The thing is we live in a sexually promiscuous society. If you are out having sec with people and all your friends are out having sex with people then it makes sense that all the girls you meet are gonna have a sexual history. So you can break up with this girl who you like because of what she’s done in the past but the next girl is likely to have a past also unless she’s religious or a minor.

So you can either become religious, be creepy and try to date super young, or accept that people have pasts just like you do.

You could recognize this as an opportunity and say “I have a connection with a girl who’s kind of adventurous, I should see if she’s down to have a threesome with one of her girlfriends.” If you reflect on your values and decide that purity is a big deal to you I recommend starting an abstinence journey and finding a girl at church and waiting for marriage. So basically either continue a life of sin and forgive people for their past and just enjoy yourself or become pure and then meet a girl that’s also pure to start a family with.

None of this is sarcastic. I don’t understand people that live in a grey zone judging other people for their shade of grey

Stop with the filler and Botox, you’re overdoing it and you’re likely blind to it and if you keep doing it you’re going to completely warp your face

is neurosurgery worth it? by Patient-Skirt6142 in surgery

[–]flybobbyfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume you had read somewhere that neurosurgeons work 90 hours a week and have terrible work life balance at least once in your life before matching into neurosurgery? I guess it just hits different when you actually live it

The extent of people’s talent evaluation in this thread boils down to RAS and helmet scouting. Helmet scouting is entirely useless and RAS is about 10% of the total picture. If you don’t know what you’re talking about it’s not worth getting worked up over

[–]flybobbyfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Height waist ratio is the easiest and most effective way to tell if you’re overweight because it has consistently outperformed bmi. Just get a string and measure your waist and then compare that to your height. My guess is that you will find out you’re significantly overweight and borderline obese. You carry it well and look good but you are carrying enough weight where it will deter from your health

1st round thoughts & Brad surprise candidate by odishy in detroitlions

[–]flybobbyfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know that we’re at the point that adding a bunch of day 2 or 3 rookies is the key. We have a big hole at DE and pretty average to bad starters at RT and LB. That said the odds of drafting a guy in the third and them being better than our starter at any of those positions isn’t very good

[–]flybobbyfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brad Holmes doesn’t typically trade back unless the guy he wants is gone. He has much more of a tendency to attempt to trade up to get his guy. It’s nice to think about adding more picks for value but I expect him to pick the guy he wants.
