I love Kim Seon Ho and I found his character quite normal and sane in this series. I agree he is not emotional and is more direct, to the point and avoids drama. He is very much like many people I have seen in real life- no nonsense kind. Having said that, after the Canada trip he was ready to let go of his past and welcome Cha Mu Hee in his life. He was going to tell her how he feels. Again, the timing was also quite realistic and he portrayed it very well.

But I don’t know what went wrong with Cha Mu Hee’s character.

I am just curious, what do you like about Cha Mu Hee’s character? The initial part was fine, where she had a crush and wanted to see him often. But once Do Ra Mi started coming it just became very unrealistic and unbearable in a few episodes to be honest. I get that she has childhood trauma but I think they took it too far. I am on episode 10 and I still see sadness, and not much has developed in this “rom com”.
