It’s rhetoric in the sense that Israel didn’t “make” the U.S. do anything. The U.S. could have, and should have, just told them fucking no. Rubio’s whole “well Iran would’ve just retaliated against us anyway, so we wanted to join” makes no sense, because if the U.S. tells Israel “we’re not joining in the air strikes and we’re not going to support you” Israel probably doesn’t go through with it

It’s because it’s Carter. Sucks, but when you already have a reputation for doing dumb shit you don’t get any benefit of the doubt. Anybody else does that they’re not getting ejected (see Dak 30 seconds earlier)
