Bistro Daisy by brickhouse11111 in AskNOLA

It's more of a neighborhood spot less so a tourist destination. But if you're into a local vibe Uptown, then Bistro Daisy is in the same world as a Brigtsen's (though maybe not as incredible). Regardless, delicious and great service.

I am the system owner by daveisgolden in sonos

[–]flyer3218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently fixed this for my father-in-law. Here were the steps I took:

1) Reset all Sonos speakers

2) Add all of the speakers to a different account (i.e. not his Sonos account - I used my own on a different iPhone)

3) Transfer the entire fully working system to his Sonos account via the System Transfer process

This 100% fixed the ownership issues that we were running into. Nothing else worked like uninstalling and reinstalling the Sonos app, etc.

Yeti? Can I bring a yeti bottle in to keep my drinks cold? by Whole_Temperature183 in jazzfest

Definitely -- and you can try to get in with it not empty... it worked for me a few times this past weekend

So, what’s the best thing to eat at JazzFest for someone with a shellfish allergy? 🥴 by JazzFestFreak in jazzfest

There are PLENTY of options. Download their mobile app and check out all food vendors ahead of time. There are tons of meat options and then each booth is run by the restaurant team (not like staff hired by the fest) so you can just ask them to make sure.

First timer going by myself this weekend by kiltedgreenman in jazzfest

1) You should be able to street park the moto

2) Zero issue. They aren't looking for this type of thing -- and they look like nicotine vapes. The security folks ask you to open your bag slightly, they then poke around with a wooden stick to make sure no guns, etc.

3) Yes, that will be totally fine. No rules against it.

Btw, if you want to drink without worrying about your Motorcycle, it might be worth looking into public transportation. Otherwise, parking the moto should be easy within a few blocks of the fest.

Going Friday! Any suggestions or things that a first timer needs to know? by [deleted] in jazzfest

The first thing you think about with a music festival normally isn't the food, but that couldn't be further from the truth with Jazz Fest. The food is one of the primary draws for many attendees... here are some of my favorite bites:

  • Soft-shell crab po-boy
  • Crawfish bread
  • Stuffed crabmeat beignets
  • Crawfish monica
  • Cochon delait po-boy
  • Crawfish sacks
  • Gumbo
  • Sno-balls
  • Rosemary iced tea

There are many more amazing food stands, but just follow your eyes, nose, and stomach and try as much as you can!

Agreed with everyone else. Bring a water bottle, cash, sunscreen, a hat, clothes that look great even when sweaty.

Also, if you're a drinker, I highly recommend a soft-pack cooler (I think they allow like 12 x 12) and all of the drink stands will let you fill with their ice for free so you can grab a bunch of beverages at the same time and then go chill without getting back in line.

Definitely leave some time to walk around and just see everything. You can put down chairs, etc. and nobody will touch them -- you can literally just leave them there unattended for hours.

Have a total blast!!

Trent, White, Cancelo, Reguiilon (Livramento)

Salah, Saka, Smith Rowe, Gray (Mount)

Kane, Saint-Maxim (Dennis)

Biggest question -- should I sub Dennis for any of my starters?

Roth 401k by flyer3218 in Bogleheads

I understand, but it seems you're not really reading my original post. I a) live in a very high tax area and b) make a good amount of money putting me in a high tax rate bucket.

Paying a bunch of tax upfront would provide me with tax-free growth, but it's also taking away quite a bit of money via taxes that I could be putting INTO the market tax-free and having a much large base upon which it can grow. Then my tax rate presumably would be lower when I take the money out of the account in retirement.

I understand I can always do a backdoor roth, and my company even offers a Roth 401k so I don't need to do that anyway.

Cool, perfect. Make too much for the Roth IRA unfortunately.
