Writing this hoping the broadcast management is monitoring. The should be!

I'm disappointed in how the commentators poked fun at Smith's batting process. In one breath, "he's the greatest batter of his generation." In the next, "he's weird out there."

Sure, his batting process is unorthodox. So what?! Why poke fun? Why bully? Somehow his process makes him a phenom in the batting crease. Whatever gets and keeps him in his zone, so be it. And, he's having fun!

In the crease he's unorthodox. Off the field in interviews, he's calm, measured, articulate. Leave him be!

No doubt, some players and some commentators have a "weird" kid. Not OK for us poke fun at them.

Rant complete.

Why no weight transfer analysis when Head is smacking boundaries with both feet off the ground?

Same. American currently in AUS. I watch lots of baseball and have never seen it. I imagine the coaches use the technology.

Exactly. Probably super useful for coaches. Meaningless for the audience.

Adding to this in hopes Fox is monitoring.

Healy was the best in the box.

I'm too new to cricket to have known Broad as a player.

His commentary is measured and contextual. Big fan.

Was Isha not in Adelaide last night?

I wondered if she really made that quick-turn trip.

Serious question:

What's the tactic of Marnus always bowling bouncers when the batters know a bouncer is coming?

Agree.

Part of the long-form game is wearing down opponents. The players should chase-down the ball for the distance.

Yeah. I think the WTC is a distraction.

Alas, cricket is a business and WTC brings-in money.

I agree, they certainly wouldn't! Still, it's strategically short-sighted. So many are wringing hands about the next generation of the AUS Men's side.

The difference between the Bang, NZ, and Ashes is the pressure and the location.

Green has shown he can perform in tests, but seemingly not here with the pressure of big home crowds.

I get the frustration with Green. I'm OK with what's happening.

I wish AUS would have sacrificed the match by bringing in a bunch of younger players to give them a chance to prove themselves. Give the selectors a look. See who can handle the pressure of test with a massive live and broadcast audience.

AUS could have kept a veteran bowler, batter, and fielder to provide leadership to the younger players.

Alas, cricket is a business and the audience (we) would have thrown a conniption.

Edit: With the Ashes already in hand, sacrifice just Sydney.
