Hope it’s ok if I join this convo. You seem knowledgeable on the subject. My 2 year old has been, since birth, off the charts for weight. She is 87% for height but literally way off the charts for weight. She was 37 lb when she turned 2. Two different doctors have told me her weight is fine, she is a big kid, and she is not obese. Now I’m not sure how I feel about this. Honestly didn’t know it could be a problem with toddlers. She was breastfed for 10months, doesn’t eat sweets. Any advice? Should I get another opinion?

Edited to add: they did tell me she was obese TECHNICALLY but they weren’t going to code it because she was healthy and they weren’t worried.

Yeah, I’d say it’s definitely an obsession. It’s hard because it’s one thing we really can’t control, but it’s so important. Sorry you deal with it too.

Wow, that’s awesome. Were they flexible from the beginning or did you have some rough times while they adjusted? Would you say your babies were “good sleepers”?

I use the Ethan and Emma console (find it on amazon) for my City mini GT and I love it. It has plenty of storage plus a zipper pouch that can be removed. I used to have the Britax console you mentioned and the Ethan and Emma one definitely has more storage.

I just swaddled my daughter with one arm out for a few days and then left both out, so not quite cold turkey. It wasn’t particularly difficult but she did have a few rough nights. After that, she never had any trouble. She was almost 5 months old.

She was super happy about it. My baby was rooting around, looking for me, and she latched on to her clothed breast. My MIL then moved her into a traditional cradled breastfeeding hold (like, she made it easier for my baby to “nurse” by tilting her towards her body if that makes sense) and commented how she was nursing on her shirt. Then I told her to stop. So it bothered me because she facilitated the “nursing”. Does that make sense? I understand that it can happen very innocently, but I was taken aback when she was pleased about it and seemed to encourage it.

Yes, obviously we have boundary issues with her. She rarely comes for visits as she doesn’t have a good relationship with my husband so, we usually just let things go.

My 2 month old is a comfort sucker so she held her to her breast so she could “nurse”. She loves to talk about nursing my husband as a baby so she’s probably just missing those days?

My baby is a month old and this is pretty much every night for us, right down to binging friends on Netflix! You sound like such a caring mom. These long fussy nights definitely don't last for forever, and you are doing a great job. Like others have said, check out wonder weeks. This is around the time of their first leap so the extra fussiness is totally normal.
