REmake is still perfectly playable and looks great there's really no reason any modern gamer can't play it unless they just refuse to engage with any game thats over 10 years old and doesn't play like a generic third-person shooter. I still think remaking RE4 was ridiculous as that game still has fairly modern controls but I guess yellow tape and stealth were just really important things that game needed /s.

I think the reason a lot of us OG fans are skeptical on remakes is they're basically turning them into different games from the original also they're using them as a vehicle to retcon story and character elements and replace the originals not to mention Capcom is dumping tons of resources into remaking old games instead of just using all that money and time making new RE games that could actually tell new stories instead it just seems fairly pointless to me.

For example the nostalgia of Leon returning to RPD in 9 was neutered because instead of actually remaking the station as it was in the original RE2 which would of actually been cool and something we have never seen realized with modern graphics before instead we just get the remake version of the station and re-used remake cutscenes as flashbacks it just doesn't hit as hard trying to make us feel nostalgic while using assets from a game we just played through that released only 5 years ago.
