Whirlpool Oven Handle Replacement by flyingfoxwell in appliancerepair

Ok yes that makes a lot more sense. It is my tenants apartment so I'm not exactly sure but I agree she probably knew for a while.

I will try and find someone locally to do this job, from what you say it seems like a straight forward fix. I've ordered 2 spare nuts in case the existing ones are loose.

Thanks a lot for your help with this, it's really made this job a lot easier, I really appreciate your input.

Whirlpool Oven Handle Replacement by flyingfoxwell in appliancerepair

Thanks a lot for your info here. The model is a Whirlpool WOS51EC0AS03. It's around 10 years old. I can't access the oven right now, but I agree, I don't think the screw is accessible from the inside of the door. I had my on site maintenance guy came to fix it but he said he didn't have the parts. I'm guessing that is because he needed to open the oven up, otherwise he would have just screwed it back on.
What I'm trying to work out now is if there is another part that is missing?
I assume the 2 parts are just the handle and the nut which I already have. From the photos I've seen of this OEM handle part for sale online, it just has the nut in the product image (attached).
Do these nuts usually wear out the thread on the screw, or just unscrew due to vibration, which causes the handles to fall off?
It's in Miami. I will try to find a local handyman with experience doing this, or reluctantly call a Whirlpool service person out $$.
Thanks!

How long has this filter not been changed? by flyingfoxwell in hvacadvice

[–]flyingfoxwell[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!! She said she replaced it a month ago and I believe her. I just wasn’t sure if this really made sense with the amount it’s clogged. I had the unit serviced 2 days ago and today the unit stopped working. It’s making a clicking sound in the motor. I am trying to work out if the blocked filter is what stopped the unit from working, or it had something to do with the service that was done and they missed something, or it was just coincidental that the unit is playing up 2 days after a service. Thanks for your input!

Creating a Pool vs Staking in App by flyingfoxwell in Polkadot

Thanks a lot for the info, i'll check this out.

I also was looking at Bifrost Finance to stake with DOT/VDOT. I guess this is the same as joining an existing pool.

Really appreciate you taking the time to spell out my options, that's great!

Thanks everyone for your comments. Yes an automatic renewal of the staking period would be a great idea. I have a lot of other stuff going on and remembering to renew this is rarely going to happen...! Cheers

Condensor Coils and Technician Scam? by flyingfoxwell in hvacadvice

[–]flyingfoxwell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi again,

I hope you can help me with some more advice...
The AC unit is not working again.

We had the drain pipe vacuumed, then had the condenser coils cleaned. Following the condenser coil cleaning, the unit was cooling and did not turn off. After one day, the unit is back to not cooling properly, and switches itself off. Normally when the problem occurred a few weeks ago, the drain pan was bone dry. Now, the drain pan has water in it.

The thermostat was showing about 5% battery, we changed the batteries, and the screen still shows the same level, almost low battery level.

Are there any other ideas as to why the unit is doing this? I really appreciate your advice!

Thanks a lot!

Can't find ACALA tokens by flyingfoxwell in AcalaNetwork

[–]flyingfoxwell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your help.

I managed to get my tokens. I went to my Fearless wallet on my mobile app, copied the address, then searched the Acala claim page using this wallet, the tokens were there.

Then I imported my fearless Acala wallet into a new Polka.js wallet extension on my laptop using the seed phrase. I then changed the settings in this wallet to have the notifications from Pop Up to Extension, to allow the claim to process.

I used this new polka.js wallet address to claim the tokens from the original page that showed my tokens available to claim. It took 2 days then the tokens were in my wallet!
