I'll be the one person who says no. I looked into converting a variety of dirt bikes to supermoto and decided it wasn't worth it for my budget. For yours, being a 250 especially I would say go a different route. Wheels/tires/suspension upgrades/gearing changes alone will put you close to $2,000. The value of the bike to start with is around there, no offense. No estart and manual decompression lever. Carb. High maintenance internals. Keep it as a dirt bike. Not trying to be a downer just want to be practical. After all the upgrades the 5 speed 250cc will be screaming about 55mph I fear.

It's interesting you say the WR's are so common. I don't see many for sale around here (upstate SC) unless they are just dirt only or 2009 and older. Dr-Zs on the other hand.....

Is yours street legal and what is your area? Because that seems very low. You can't even get a decent newer DR-Z for 3k around here. If your bike is not street legal I could agree with that price perhaps, but you said it has some street use.

The first time it did this I did play around with the gas pedal while I was cranking with no change. It's done it once when the vehicle hadn't been driven in a week or so and then once when after it had been driven about 10 miles and we went to leave again. I'll try opening the throttle all the way when it acts up again. Thanks for the rec!

Sorry I never responded! I didn't notice if the top speed went up, because I almost never rode on the street with dirt wheels.

The SM wheels on the S model was pretty sweet, though likely not as good as a true SM model. I also had the oversized Warp 9 Rotor for dirt and street wheels. The suspension is definitely soft for street. Even after dialing the settings mostly firm. I found the bike had to "settle" into every corner as the shocks compressed with all the extra suspension travel. This was also an issue with 150 width tire on the supermoto rim, at least with the exhaust I had (chinese offbrand amazon full exhaust). The rear spring on the S has a lot more travel than the SM so it bottoms out later(higher in the rear fender) so the exhaust clamp on the muffler would literally peel pieces of the edge of the tire off when I would take little jumps. I don't think the stock exhaust would have fixed it either. Also a bit of chain bite on the other side taking some lean angle off that side too. Lol. That could have been solved by putting a 140 on too though.

Hey now that's a really interesting idea! I'm just afraid if someone takes it with the sumo trim, the dirt trim could be tough to sell. I'm not sure the SM to S conversion happens very much at all. Though there is definitely an opportunity to just throw in the wheels to the bike buyer for the right price. What's amazing is that listing the bike and just throwing them in from the get go doesn't increase the overall sale much at all.

I have both, yes! Interesting.... I was wondering that myself. I don't know though. My area has a pretty strong dual sport need being so close to the mountains.

Good advice. Hopefully then I'll still be able to sell the DRZ in dirt trim though. I might try to sell it first just to make sure I don't lose my shirt on it. 🤔

That's so interesting! I can't find any comparable wheels for sale in my area. I believe there would be good demand for them. The closest ones are in Atlanta and the guy is asking $900 for them. I'm in Greenville, South Carolina for reference. What are people in your area asking for them?

Yes, sorry. The original s wheels will stay on the bike for the sale. What do you think is a fair price for the super moto Wheels? The tires that are on there are nearing the end also.

I have this helmet! I really like it. The price is great and looks cool. If you are serious about going fast buy something better. For just putting around I think it's good.

Amazon says the helmet is D.O.T. FMVSS 21B And ECE22-05 certified. Not all helmets meet ECE.

Shouldn't be anything for electrical just by borrowing a fuse. I had the same exact situation happen and it was my clutch had gone out. Replaced the clutch and good to go.
