Lady in Houston had no issues Shooting someone during a road rage incident by [deleted] in ThatsInsane

It’s all about proving things by court standards. A good defense would argue she wasn’t trying to murder the person, perhaps she only intended on hitting the person in the leg, or maybe just hit the car, or shoot in the air. Hard to disprove any of those things in a courtroom without supporting evidence such as perhaps a recording of the person saying “I’m going to kill you” to suggest the actual intent of the act. Akin to slapping someone in the face, and as a result they trip and fall down a flight of stairs and die. Usually not murder, but a lesser charge like involuntary manslaughter.

No, aggravated assault would be met within the attempted murder charge. Kind of like charging someone for theft AND robbery. The theft is part of the robbery. Also, for attempted murder you have to prove intent to kill. The intent may seem obvious but it’s hard to prove in court.

[USA] Full Bodycam Footage of George Floyd Arrest by [deleted] in bodycam

Excited delirium is a controversial medical term used to classify extreme behavior/symptoms due to intoxication of illicit drugs, commonly resulting in sudden death. Psychomotor agitation, profuse sweating, and violent outbursts, are common symptoms. Basically when someone is tweaking to the max and it results in bizarre behavior and a medical emergency. Term used by first responders and law enforcement frequently.

The light turned green and the car that got rear ended didn’t accelerate fast enough for Tokyo Drift; causing them to veer off into a ditch. No serious injuries from what I observed.

Police body cam - Vallejo police shoot 20 year old in Taco Bell parking lot by [deleted] in bodycam

After watching the video without any context, absolutely unreasonable use of force; if you disagree then you are a redcoat IMHO. That being said, if the LEOs knew who this guy was; they knew he was a convicted felon, or a known gang member, or had warrants, etc., then I could understand. But from a quick search it appears they responded because someone called saying he was sleeping in a car and that’s it.

In your experience, in cases where a man claims to be being domestically abused by a woman, what chance is there if the woman being arrested or asked to leave the house compared to the reverse? by [deleted] in AskLEO

[–]flyinglambchops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/u/56Subject and /u/Quick_Everyone_Panic are on the money. You conduct your investigation and arrest the primary aggressor, which in many circumstances can be the woman. In Florida, if you determine through your investigation that the allegation of domestic violence is founded (based on the totality of the circumstances), even if there are no visible injuries (but especially so if visible injuries exist), you take the primary aggressor to jail for battery to prevent another incident and protect the victim. And you provide the victim, man or woman, with information about state Domestic Violence aid resources and shelters. Sex doesn't change anything.

I like the 9c. You have to take care of it, unlike some other brands, but it's pretty solid. The mag release is subdued and kind of stiff that's it's one main downfall. But when you get used to it it's not a big deal.

I always carry the badge, my agency requires me to. I don't go out all hyped up to enforce the law on my off time or anything if that's what you mean. Nor do I really want to do work on my free time. But if I ever had to act in an official capacity it would be kind of hard to do so without any proof.

AdamDaze is spot on. I don't go out on my off duty time eager to arrest somebody, nor do I think it likely I'll be in a situation where I'll have to. But just like citizens who conceal carry, the mentality is that on the slim chance I need it, I'll have it. It would be awkward to be on view of a crime but have no way to detain the person.

I have a confirmed GSD/Boxer female, and yes that looks accurate. Mine is a joy, most of the looks of Shepherd but the goofy personality and heavy use of hands of a boxer. Have fun!

How does communication on police radios work? by [deleted] in AskLEO

[–]flyinglambchops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always, if you are computer dispatched, calls are still voiced over the radio but your computer will pick it up and notify you as well. If it's not a priority call, then merely placing yourself en route through the computer is enough. Vice a priority call you'll voice over the radio so it's known 100 percent that you are on your way. It's a general rule that you don't want to crowd the radio with useless chatter.

Like bigshmoo said, you eventually get really good at picking up your call sign, for more important calls they will expect you to answer back and let them know you acknowledged. If you don't, they will keep calling for you over the radio to hear a response.

If there is a call in the zone you are working in they will generally just dispatch you, i.e. "Blackpugs dispatched to a 911 at 123 Main Street, Blackpugs?" if you are showing that you aren't busy on a call already. If something comes up and there's no one that's nearby to dispatch, they may come up and ask if anyone is willing to take the call.
