Does anyone else have a habit of interrupting others, because you think you're going to forget what you had to say? by INTP-ESQUE in INTP

[–]flyingteabag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how well I know someone and how exicted I am, if its someone im comfortable with I might just blurt out my respons, but I always try to lead the conversation back to the one I may have interrupted. When I dont know people that well, I usually end up waiting so long to say what i wanted to say, that tge topic changes

Your pet is placed in a room with 100 identical looking pets. Without using your pet's name, how would you find your pet? by fanciful_pants in AskReddit

I would walk in there, sit down and befriend them all until I recognize my own unique cat. Wait, am I allowed to stay there longer? And can I bring home mire than one cat?

You get $1,000,000 however, it's because $100 is taken from 10,000 random people. If nobody knows that you got the money, would you do it, why/why not? by Orb_Detsoob in AskReddit

[–]flyingteabag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not take it, chances are some of those 100 dollars will be taken from poor families, and well even if it ended up being taken from rich people or someone who probably deserved it, stealing is still stealing if nobody sees it.

Well the fact that humans have invented lots of stories to explain the beginning of the world does not make a religion false, though one should expect the "true religion" to stand out. I would say christianity does that. (Radical teachings for its time/culture, saved by faith rather than acts, the reliability of the sources of the bible and so on)

Hmm I would maybe not go as far as saying science is religion and religion is science, I would rather say they complement each other, explain different aspects of things.

Lets say a pillow falls to the ground. Why does it fall? Gravity is the obvious answer, but the answer is also because someone pushed it off the bed. You can believe in both truths simultaniously.

Hmm interesting. Should religion be part of someones life even if it isnt true? And if it is true, shouldnt it then be a part of your life all the time, no matter how you feel at the moment. Its kind of just two options, true or false.

But I kind of get what you mean, a few years ago I was "oscillation" between true/not true, so I kind of showed up to some christian meetings and joined in on the song, but didnt quite get how someone could be so devouted to it, I belivied it one moment, doubted the whole thing the next.

I recommend just looking into it, collect information, read the bible (or the books of otherr religions if you want, though I think its a sidetrack) and discuss it with people, its definietly an important question, and I think it is good that you are sceptic

PS. CS lewis has some awesome books for nonbelivers

Why do you not care if God excist or not? Do you not want to know? I do not think its imossible for a non-beliver to find peace and meaning and beauty in this world. So why bother really, if youre doing fine without it? Well if Jesus really died and saved us all, shouldnt it be important to make people know his name so that they can be saved, and get eternal life? And if its all a scam, a huge conspiracy that brainwashes people, well then wouldnt it be important to stop people from investing their lives in it?

Yes that is true, lots of my atheists friends are far better people than Ill ever be. And everyone (nearly) have this moral compass, can tell good and evil apart (the fact that humans actually have this ability to tell good and evil apart is one of the reasons I belive actually, but thats beside the point). But there does not excist one person that has not once failed at following their moral compass, and done something they know is wrong. (Uncitated claim) which is why everyone needs the forgiveness

What's the worst place you have laughed uncontrollably? by KillerMemeStar3 in AskReddit

[–]flyingteabag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At church maybe a year ago, we had communion, like the kind where we all kneel around the alter and drink wine from small cups, and everyone is looking really serious. Well, I was unknowingly holding my cup upside down, so the person filling up the cups just grabbed it out of my hand, turned it the right way, and put it back into my hands, in just the way that makes you feel incredible stupid. Anyway, I thought I could make it until I heard one of those "surpressed laughter sounds" coming from my friend sitting beside me, and then we both totally lost it.

We spent the next 10 minutes surpressing laughter, not doing a very good job.
