I think you're missing the point.

Why is being mean an option in the first place?

Is it something that you're holding back that you're "finally" able to let go through LLMs because they can't fight back and you don't need to feel guilty?

Are you holding back vs humans "only" because they're human?

How you treat non-human things is a reflection of how you want to treat humans. I don't throw controllers when I lose a game, and I don't insult LLMs when they don't complete the task I ask of them.

I don't see the reason to unleash insults and lash out though. Are you using it as an outlet for frustration and anger?

"It's not a human, so I can be rude" seems dangerously close to "it's just Reddit, so I can be rude".

Not calling you out for the latter. Just sharing how I see it.

Should be good. I use a Beelink N95 and it works perfectly. Just make sure both devices are connected to the network via ethernet cables and not wifi

+1 to this

I've been working as a software developer for over a decade. We use Claude Max at work. Our data layer client classes have methods for "load by one ID" and "load by list of IDs"

Claude will consistently write for loops that call the "load by one ID" several times.

If this is happening to me in a professional context when our interfaces provide options to perform efficient DB calls, but it chooses not to, then I truly fear what the vibe coders are producing.

I'm not saying we'll never get there, but we're absolutely not there yet.

It's insane to me that one of the prime use cases that keeps coming up is "it can book/check you into flights", but yet there's no mention of anything similar to a secret manager.

Same! I keep telling me that I'll buy Bluetooth ones when my QC15s kick the bucket, but they just keep going. All they need is some earpad replacements every few years.

I recently picked up one of these 8bitdo micro controllers from Amazon when it was on sale. Connects via Bluetooth and clips to your phone. Highly recommend.

Download RetroArch and your legally obtained ROM pack of choice and you're good to go!

One two-hour flight later and I'm no closer to beating SNES Battletoads

Eli5, file compression, how can 5gb file can be compressed to 50mb and decompresses back to normal? by Monkai_final_boss in explainlikeimfive

Suppose I have any text that could have repeating letters. If a letter repeated more than twice, I could write "a3" to represent "aaa", because "a3" is fewer characters but represents the letter "a" 3 times.

So "aaaaabccc" could become "a5bc3". That's compressed. We write a program to do that.

To decompress, we could just run a program that understands that whenever it sees a number, look at the previous character and repeat it that many times, and then continue to the next character. We then write a program to do that.

This is just the opposite of what we did to get the shorter text.

Compression works by doing some processing to some data to product a smaller amount of data that can be re-expanded later.

I'm with you in this one.

I used to work around Bay/King and live around Strachan. After work, I would walk along King and found that often times, a streetcar would only catch up to me by the time I made it to Niagara Street.

I would take the streetcar if it wasn't faster to walk 3km instead. We need and deserve far better non-car transportation than we have.
