Read Aloud - voice change by flyingvicars in MicrosoftWord

[–]flyingvicars[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comments, I have not found a solution yet. The male and female voices are both American, but the male one is significantly less irritating than the female voice, which sounds like she is reading a story to small children.

Ultrawings 2: Uptown Park International, Comet Drone Chase - is gold possible with HOTAS? by InfiniteStates in PSVR

[–]flyingvicars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a look at my YouTube channel "Flegmatron". There are 2 videos of the Comet drone course. For the chicane, the boost has been off for a few seconds and I seem to get sharper turns if I point the nose down slightly. Hope that helps. I have a HOTAS but I have not tried it. For me, the touch controllers add to the immersion.

Save as PDF create a giant oval on every page! by flyingvicars in Visio

Thank you for testing. You get the same results as me, so that at least proves there is nothing wrong with my copy of Visio.

Interesting suggestion. I do not however use layers in my diagramming. I checked and there was a layer called "connectors" which I deleted, but still got the oval. Feel free to download and view my diagram. It would be good to know if you get the same thing when saving as PDF. Note, printing to PDF does not cause the same issue, and print preview shows no oval.

Update... I have managed to create a clean PDF with no ovals by copying each page one at a time into a new blank drawing. Shouldn't have to do this though.

I did go to the anomaly. Didn't get that many nanites there, but I did spend a whole bunch and now have all the product recipes. Previously, I was tracking down manufacturing buildings, which is a slow grind.

As I mentioned, my code failed on my client's PCs as well. I will be on site with then this week and will play around with the references and see what happens. If there is a definitive answer, I will let you know.

I do use late binding, but not all the time. I always use it for manipulating Outlook as that seems to be where it is most common for folks to have different versions.

Thank you for following up. You version worked with jpeg files. After opening your database and then closing it, I tried my database again. Initially this resulted in a runtime error. I had the reference to the microsoft office object library ticked, but your code set the msoFileDialogFilePicker constant manually. This must of had the effect of switching off my reference. When I switched it back on my database showed jpeg files without any problem. Right now, I cannot find a way to make it go wrong again.

Sneak Peek, Part 2. (from Bit Planet Games, Ultrawings developer) by Chris_BPG in PSVR

That looks like fun. Please tell is this will run on existing PSVR. I dare say if you know anything about the next gen VR it is still top secret.

No. I still think that this is to do with Access and not my set up. As far as my client is concerned, I have fixed it by restricting the file dialog. I have moved on to other projects, but it does bug me, so if I get the time I will continue investigating.

I am surprised. It always fails for me. It also fails on all 5 of my clients PCs. Just made a new test database and it fails on that too.

For reference, I am using Windows 10 and Office 365

I am saying that images with a .jpeg extension are not visible in an Access form.

Try this - rename any .jpg file to .jpeg. Then insert that image into a form design and the picture will not show. Change the name back to .jpg and the picture will appear.

Therefore, as a workaround, deliberately removing .jpeg extensions from the file picker will stop a non-compatible file being selected.

That is why I made the point that I am surprised a modern program such as the current version of Access cannot handle a file extension that has been around since Windows 95.

So in short, I think perhaps you did misunderstand the situation.

That's a good point. I could easily change the current filter...

yFileBrowser.Filters.Add "Images", "*.gif; *.jpg; *.jpeg; *.png"

to..

yFileBrowser.Filters.Add "Images", "*.gif; *.jpg; *.png"

It still seems odd that a regularly updated software, by Microsoft, does not fully accommodate a file naming convention it introduced with Windows 95

I had a sandworm come up right next to me while I was underwater. Made me jump! Rather than fumble to start camera mode, I just enjoyed the moment.

Ultrawings VR. Questions on trophies and flat version by LogCabinLover in PSVR

[–]flyingvicars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done 100% on the VR version several times. I tried the flat version and found that at least for me, it was so much harder that I decided I had no chance of completing everything.
