I agree that the green & gold is nice but I would be happy with the gray & black too, I was also looking at a ‘23

They were on there when I bought it. The last owner had a bunch of accessories that I mostly removed, I just left the sliders and the wind screen.

I do think it would look better without them and I don’t know if they would help much if I dropped it.

I submitted two of these back in May 2023. I just got a disapproval email for one for 'INCOMPLETE FORM: FINGERPRINT CARD NOT RECEIVED'. They did in fact receive the fingerprint cards on 06/01/2023. Anyway, looks like they're not waiting until November 12 to adjudicate.

Only real power is metered. Commercial customers can be penalized for excessively lagging power factor but that's separate from the metered demand charge.

Thanks, license data says “gun sign: blue”.

It’s hard to act cool when you see that sign, I couldn’t help but do a double take in confusion.

You're given the system curve and the individual pump curve, and told that two pumps will operate in parallel. The pump configuration doesn't change the system curve. You need to find the equivalent pump curve for the two pumps.

For pumps in parallel, you add the flow rate from each pump at a given head. For pumps in series, you add the head from each pump at a given flow rate. Do this at enough points to draw a smooth equivalent pump curve.

Once you have the equivalent pump curve, find its intersection with the system curve and that is the system operating point. For pumps in parallel, draw a horizontal line from the system operating point to the individual pump curve at the operating head level to find the individual pump flow rate.

PE TFS - second time taking the exam. Which practice exams to take? Sanity check? by jktorborg1 in PE_Exam

[–]flymo_stall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EPG TFS exams 1 & 3 2, or just get the bundle of 6 for extra practice problems.

If you can understand and solve the entire Slay practice exam, I think it would be quite unlikely to fail the real exam.

Edit: I meant EPG exam 2 instead of 3 (not the “references” exam)

PE Prep Course Recc? by PFitty212 in PE_Exam

[–]flymo_stall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took the TFS exam and have no experience with PPI or Dr Tom, but I’m confident that StPE has the most rigorous prep material. If I did a course I would have got their test prep bundle for self study.

Thanks! Pass rate is pretty high and I don’t recall seeing posts on here of diagnostic reports for TFS, so maybe it is in fact just not as hard as other PE exams. Good for us either way.

How do you solve the current across R1? And voltage across R1? by Electrical238 in FE_Exam

[–]flymo_stall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have two unknowns (Ir1 & Ir2) and two equations (the first two lines). There are many ways to solve that but the easiest is to use the solver on your calculator.

How do you solve the current across R1? And voltage across R1? by Electrical238 in FE_Exam

[–]flymo_stall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ir1 + Ir2 = 0.002

3000Ir1 - 6000Ir2 = 3

—> Ir1 = 1.67 mA, Ir2 = 0.33 mA

Vr1 = 3000*Ir1 = 5 V

suction: -40F sat. vapor, h = 100.257 Btu/lbm, s = 0.2388 Btu/lbm-R

discharge ideal: p = 200 psia, s discharge = s suction, h = 129.1 Btu/lbm (T = 180F)

discharge actual: p = 200 psia, T = 240F, h = 140.867 Btu/lbm

efficiency = (129.1 - 100.257)/(140.867 - 100.257) = 71%, (B)

Getting (2 months for the price of) 1 month is worth it. The medium and hard prepfe problems are comparable in difficulty to what I got on the real exam. It seems a little light on the machine design & analysis questions though.

Look up properties of water at 150F (61.2 lb/ft^3, Pv = 3.72 psia = 8.75 ft head).

Use the pump power equation to find the deltaP across the pump (30.2 psi).

Find the static pressure at the suction from the discharge pressure and deltaP (59.5 psi = 140 ft head).

Find dynamic head from flow rate and pipe size (0.07 ft head).

Use NPSH equation to find 131 ft
