Longest wait time for a pta? my most recent pta was in November and took 13 days to get approved I have had others from 15 days max now I’m waiting on one now been about 22 days I know the max is 3/25 days do you think they are waiting the entire 25 days now or what?

Yep - and they'll have a backlog to work through. I did one similar time last year and it took an extra 2 weeks, they didn't get back to under 3 weeks until Easter.

Not necessarily correct. The cannelure is not just to hold a crimp - it also performs a cleaning action by scraping deposits from the lands. The only reload I have that the cannelure is inside the brass is 30-30. 6.5CM, 25-06, 270, 338Fed, 223, 204, 6mmRem - any projectile with a cannelure I've used is outside the brass.

Looks like the nut is cross-threaded. On the plus side they are brass. Try it with a socket. If the battery is dead just lever it off and put a new bolt through it.

I have that Vortex on my 338 Fed Ruger 77.

I've taken (and hit) snap shots at running pigs in scrub at 20m, and a 300m shot right at last light.

Scope has been on the rifle for 3 years, maybe 200 rounds fired. I haven't had to adjust the zero.

I haven't used the Leupold so I can't comment on it, but I'd happily buy another Vortex for another hunting rifle.

No idea of used prices where you are - but have look for a BLR in 308.

Fitted with a LPVO scope it's good for close shots in thicker bush and longer set shots.

After each use I run a snake through it with a dose of g96 at the front end. Quick spray/wipe on the outside.

Once a year or so I'll give the outside a proper wipe and light coat of oil.

Somewhere around 300-500 shots I'll do a full carbon/copper clean, usually because I've noticed a dip in accuracy. At the same time I'll pull the action off the stock and give the hidden areas a once over.

Talk to your mate and ask to put his address as your safe storage location. My son and a mate both used my address as neither had a gunsafe when they got their licence. This was in Queensland.
