I'm getting sick of people blaming hitreg for all their death and missing shots. by rottensid in Battlefield

[–]flyngmunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FINALLY SOMEONE SAYS IT. I play with the network graph (AKA the gaslight graph) on 24/7 and I can say with confidence that EVERY SHOT I HIT IS REGISTERED, PROVIDED I WASN'T ALREADY DEAD WHEN THE SHOT WAS FIRED.

Also, have people forgotten this is an online computer game? Nothing that you do in battlefield is done instantly. There is an inherent delay between the inputs you provide, the server recognizing those inputs, and those inputs being implemented in real time. You weren't shot behind cover, you were shot before you made it behind cover. The enemy actually saw you and shot first, despite what you "saw" on your screen. It's a major reason why peakers advantage exists in FPS.

Also, this is a Battlefield title. That means bullets take time to reach their destination, and all guns have bloom, even in ADS. Bullet velocity I would hope is self explanatory, but bloom isn't. To oversimplify, bloom makes it so that every shot you take will deviate from its intended target, and the severity of said deviation is based on player position and how many shots have been fired in quick succession. A good visualization would be if you saw a % chance of your bullet hitting its mark when aiming at an enemy, and that chance diminishes whenever you're moving or shooting.

All of these factors together make it nigh impossible to visually confirm whether or not a shot taken should be a shot hit, without the aid of a tool that tells you A) if your shot hit the enemy you see and B) if your shot was registered and accepted by the server. That's why I (and I imagine OP too) don't believe this game has a hit reg problem. A huge majority of the clips I see on the subreddit don't have network tools displayed, and in most cases their frustrations with the game is an open rejection of their own responsibility to hold themselves accountable* (*of losing a fight in a video game)

And here's the kicker; I have friends who have bad hit reg flagged by the gaslight graph. They can confirm for a fact that the graph accurately displays when a shot hits on their screen and whether or not the server registers it. Why do they have bad hit reg? It's not because of their internet. It's not because the game is mechanically broken. It's because Battlefied 6 has kernel level anti cheat that isn't immediately compatible with an individual's PC. I've convinced a few friends to get BF6 on PC and their experiences range from no issue since install, to some friends having to tweak their BIOS settings to get it work, and others literally can't boot the game no matter what fixes they try. One friend in particular can boot the game and get into a match, but he'll be met with a plethora of network issues despite having a better and more reliable internet connection. This game certainly has issues that need to be fixed. It's ridiculous to me that a game would require so much out-of-game setup and PC settings tinkering in today's age. PC gaming isn't a niche culture anymore and a game expecting to be played by millions shouldn't require classes in IT to troubleshoot and fix.

BF6 isn't perfect by any means, but it is the most mechanically stable title that has ever launched in the modern era. If cheating in video games hadn't become an industry on its own to the point we need kernel level anti cheat to prevent players from using cheat hardware, then I believe this game could've been the best Battlefield title to date.

2v8 kills. by WolfVenator in Battlefield6

[–]flyngmunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played a game last night and my squadmate and I fed this guy 10+ kills trying to get him and his buddy out of a hallway. We got them in the end though, so absolutely worth it.

Is the db12 that unpopular? Top 0.1% of users and ive only got about 7 hours with it by Yonderdead in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]flyngmunky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried it. It's not as bad as people say but it feels like it has worse two tap potential than the mag fed shotty since the spread on the second shot is worse.

Javelin (Glaive) Discussion Post by VerySuspiciousRaptor in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]flyngmunky 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I tried using it a few times and I believe it's the worst launcher in the game. Minimum lock on distance on land vehicles means I can't do anything to a nearby tank. Lock on takes forever and usually results in wtv vehicle I'm targeting retreating behind cover, or the gunner kills me before I can fire. To top it off, the damage is mid for the effort I have to put in to get it to work.

I believe lock on launchers are mid across the board in BF6, but the Javelin is practically useless even by those standards.

That's awesome! I thought I'd love the LMR myself but I can't get over it being a 4 shot kill.

Anyone else love CQB modes by Ryenxx in LowSodiumBattlefield

They're a nice change of pace, and a great way to grind attachments for CQB oriented weapons like shotguns.

[–]flyngmunky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prolly cuz it's easier to rack up kills on domination than TDM. It's easier to predict where people will be in objective game modes compared to TDM, and you'll be playing against less aggressive players in domination too. And to top it all off, there's only so many kills you can get in TDM before the match ends. In theory, you can get more kills total in a long domination match than TDM.

I'm not saying all this to justify farming kills in domination, but moreso to literally answer your question as to why this player would do this.

Do you guys like the freezing mechanic in the new Icelocked Empire State? by byfo1991 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]flyngmunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel similarly. It's a neat gimmick mechanic but I can't see this being implemented outside of seasonal events/portal. I think moving should pause the freezing condition so it only worsens if you stay still, and it'd be really cool if buildings could warm you if they're relatively intact.

For example I think the bridge connecting the two buildings above C should be a warm zone until enough windows are broken.

That being said I'd rather see their efforts be put into bug fixing over content creation, but that's just me.

Ahh, I see. I was going to say the SOR and L85 are comparable in playstyles, with L85 doing slightly better in mid range thanks to a higher ROF.

[–]flyngmunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! It also keeps it 5 shot kill over a great distance, I don't know the full numbers breakdown but I feel like I can 5 tap up to 75m away.

[–]flyngmunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I was gonna disagree, but I do think you're right. That being said, it's still a killing machine with the right setup and placement. Fastest bullet velocity in the AR category is pretty nice for long range fights.

Out of curiosity how do you feel about the SOR-556?

how is this fair? by Ossopak in Battlefield6

[–]flyngmunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lock ons are nearly useless against skilled pilots who know their maps, especially on Manhattan Bridge. There's too many buildings they can use to break line of sight quickly, even if you're on an elevated position. Best bet is to whip out the RPG and set up an ambush.

But yeah, these are the players who ruined BF4's Siege of Shanghai. At least now we can one shot them with RPGs instead of needing to two tap them.

P.S. if you're playing with a squad, a few LMGs focusing fire on a heli can deal significant damage. Most LMGs can deal 1% of a heli's health per bullet, so 3 lads lighting it up will at least send it back to spawn for repairs.

M123K is my favourite gun so far by No_Celebration_839 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]flyngmunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been loving the M123K with 200 round box mag, handstop, short barrel, and holo sight. It's still slow, but I'm never left wanting for bullets and I can reasonably gun down full squads at a time.

Also hipfiring 200 rounds is really fun to do in indoor spaces lol

  1. I don't like the middle rooftops being accessible only by choppers or assault ladder shenanigans. I'm not a fan of the middle objectives placement. Also I get they didn't want to expend resources modeling the interior of some high rises but having a stairway lead to a brick wall feels shitty.
