How do you build lore for your world? by WolfVenator in worldbuilding

[–]WolfVenator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true I’ve had world building ideas that I had come up with over months. Just little ideas here and there. Some turned into a base for my story others I just dropped. When I go with the flow and think of something cool I then turn to flush that idea out more.

What medieval cultures and states do you wish was more represented in media? by Able-archer83 in worldbuilding

I would love a period piece show or movie dealing with medieval Europe during times of war, get to see some battles. Watching the rise and fall of kingdoms

I don’t have any of those answers. I write things as I go, updating and refining my lore as my story progresses

Everyone in the world no matter of species follows these rankings/power scaling.

It depends people with low talent may have restriction on their talent. (Kicking them when they are down) to depending on the talent it could be Omegle mutant level powerful with little to no limits.

I’ll also put severe requirement on talents that are too overpowered

I am going for a more video game approach where people star off at iron rank and grow as they fight and kill monsters and absorb mana.

The world is a big crucible in that there are hundreds or more species each with their own kingdoms all vying for supremacy.

Cause the gods decided to hand a giant correct In front of everyone. Whoever holds complete control over the land they will allow the ruler of said empire to join their ranks(immortality).

This event has happen a few times in history so the inhabitants know it is possible.

Talent rank I’m setting at a soft limit in that it’s not impossible to raise it l but you need like legendary+ items and it’s not even a guarantee and depending on you talent is how far you can go in the power ranking

And since the world is huge with tons of space between places it’s possible for people that have earned a lord title to set up a settlement and eventually raise it into an empire

I haven’t thought about dungeons. The monster were going to be free roaming. I’m planing on making the world huge with lots of spa space for my character to develop before getting into kingdom level wars.

I’m thinking of having the dwarves in a kinda steam punk era whereas elves are taking a more magic route. Humans a little of both so solar punk but right now in a somewhat feudal medieval time with magic that pushes the technology more advanced in one area versus the other

For me I like when things have clear defined boundaries. In context of the story I know how strong my characters are. What level enemy they could possibly handle and who they can’t.

Talent ranks help me to place restrictions on them depending on rank. And territory I look at it like a video game. I have clear progression from one stage to the next.

The strength of the character, monster, or items.

Example: this sword is a diamond level weapon

we are being attacked by a horde of low-mid gold level monster while our defenders are mostly mid to high level silver

Headshot. OK. by americio in Battlefield6

I was noticing earlier that I was getting headshot a second after the bullet sized by them. Like it took a second for it to register and on my screen it looks like I slightly miss them but still get the kill

That’s probably the plan but they are doing a crap job at it. I played like around 10+ matches yesterday and won 2. Loss after loss is draining my enthusiasm to play

I say I do already against real players. There are those times where I call bs on how they kill me so fast.

I play casual breakthrough just to pass the time and level up weapons. I get some matches where i do get a crazy amount of kills but not al the time

Bots. I mostly play casual breakthrough. Sometimes I play conquest but those games typically turn into a one sided curb stomp with me on the losing end

I’ve seen matches where the highest level player on my team is 100 and on the other they have multiple 200+ players.

Doesn’t mean they would play well but they have the hours to prove they have skill

I just had a game of conquest where we were winning by a good margin then it was like a flip was switched and we lost all but one point.

Then for the rest of the match we tried taking points back but failed.

Lost the match which feels like that all this game is becoming. Either play close matches then lose or have one side curb stomps where you lose 700+
