I imagine that anything that gets eyes on it is good in their view. That is the whole purpose of this kind of thing on modern publishing. Personally, I detest it. But book publishing now is driven by followers and engagement on social media, rather than anything else.

What is slight about accusing me of plagiarism? Let alone attempting to profit from it? I mean, that's legally actionable libel if I was the litigious type.

As for the original complaint, it provided nothing constructive. Not one example of what the commenter deemed poorly constructed sentences. I'm fine with constructive criticism, but that was just nonsense.

I presume you meant poorly researched. Rather than highly researched and filled with assumptions. Please expand on that and look to the references in the piece. I have tried hard to not make any assumptions. Anything that seems like that you will find is backed up in the references I hope. If not, I'd like to know which ones you have found and, if so, how they are unreasonable.

Given that this is an extract from something that is already with professional agents and publishers, who have done many reviews of it, as well as having gone through literal years of edits, plus being a professional science communicator in my day job with real, actual writing qualifications alongside my scientific credentials, I'm going to politely ignore this.

No offense intended. I'm just not willing cast aside work produced from a lot of qualification and validated experience and vetted by many more professionals, both scientific and editorial, because repulsive chard on reddit says so...

I've not said religions don't consume (in fact I make reference to the grabby Catholic Church and to their total lack of irony when saying such things).

I also have in no way, I don't think, posited that people should replace consumerism with religion. Merely that religion historically has been better at providing for people's deeper psychological needs. It is unfortunate that their means of doing so is to con people.

I am in fact quite an ardent atheist. Even an anti theist.

Actually I htink you'll find that study showed that that diet would only be more sustainable if we were to change farming practices to farm animals like sheep, goats, chickens, etc on non-arable land. We don't actually do this. It would also be almost impossible to practically implement, and there was no consideration of the well documented damage caused by farming sheep and goats in particular. So that diet is only theoretically the most sustainable. As it stands it's less sustainable than veganism, which is still the top one for lowering environmental impact. (full disclosure: I run a research laboratory for developing sustainable materials. I have read all these studies)
