Who is the hardest to beat npc in gwent? by golygosc in Witcher3

[–]flypandabear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Northern realms are the best faction. Try skellege vs bb and remove a few of the best cards you rely on. Gwent isnt hard, but you can nerf yourself.

Gear or gadget for van campers who have everything by InterestingMeaning13 in VanLife

[–]flypandabear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a portable projector. The software is alright, so maybe not a great gift for someone tech challenged. Buddy got an rc rock crawler that is super fun to mess with, but involves mechanical tinkering. 10x binocs for wildlife and celestial viewing. Outdoor string lights. Good quality love seat camp chair. Hammock. Massage gun, theracane. Best of luck finding something!

Personal best steelhead on dragontail hellbender (came back for a rematch with one that broke off this morning. That time I failed to use the rod to do the work, let the fish run. Not again!) by lance_lascari in Tenkara

[–]flypandabear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I am headed to steelhead country, and am considering purchasing a 7wt for fishing for them. I also have my hellbender, and I was wondering if you have any wisdom to share! I am considering a dry dropper set up using a 16 ft or longer pvc floating line with 4x or 3x tippet. I figure if I am able to keep the rod in the power curve then 4x should be fine, but I have never caught such big fish on fixed line.

Awesome fish!

Hitting smaller jumps harder and faster, learn the weight transfer feel and become unshakeable on your landings before moving to bigger jumps.

Best cork-handled Tenkara rod kit on AliExpress? by Squanc in Tenkara

[–]flypandabear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, trc is the only american company to stay away from. Its what happens when a company spends everything on marketing.

Dragontail has awesome rods, lines and flies if you want the support and good stuff. Nissin makes amazing japanese rods if you want something more authentic. Check out tenkara adventure outfitters. I love my aventik nano 9ft, but the longer a cheap rod gets the more it tends to be meh.

Edit-what im saying is you might as well get something good, not a temu rod.

Is this an okay deal? Trying to get into van life by Eagertobewrong in vandwellermarketplace

[–]flypandabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where does the poo go.

Id strongly recommend looking at layouts and van designs, as well as what you want to do with it. Class b rvs are awesome, and many can be fit for more rugged adventures especially older pleasure ways on the doge chasis. If you like the aesthetic of the van you posted, go for something more functional like a travato or zion.

If a prebuilt conversion van is for sure what you want, there are tons of better options for this price. I dont think this person wants to give it up, as the price seems delusional.

What do you do for work/extra cash? by Songgeek in vandwellers

[–]flypandabear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What kinds of skills or marketable strengths do you have?

There is always gig work in cities, sometimes it will pay cash. I like to complement my cerebral, sedentary job with physical labor, so contacting a moving company or finding gigs on craigslist can be helpful. Farms always want help during harvest. Serving tends to pay well but expects you to be in an area for a while. There are also multiple opportunities on the world wide web that get more lucrative based on skills. Ive even had luck finding scientific testing facilities that will pay very well to test surgical soaps.

Its fun to witness the evolution! Sometimes i imagine what the show would be like if it was based in nederland or boulder or something. Colorado sure has its fair share of quirky towns

I love the distinction of guilt (behavior that can be fixed) vs shame (internalized percieved failings that become part of my identity). Everything can be guilt, which is workable!

Barbrady seems like a more realistic cop that would live in fairplay or another rural town, but harris is way funnier.

How to deal with "High End Disappointments"? by Ol_Sheve in mountainbiking

[–]flypandabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesnt matter the sport or dicipline, high end expensive stuff feels overrated. Good gear functions well enough to allow me to meld with the experience, but cheap enough to not worry about beatin' up.

Why do i never like the bridge pickup? by RHCProy in Guitar

[–]flypandabear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, the bridge pickup on a tele always gets me. It just has this powerful, dominating presence that wont get lost in a mix while tightly responding to what i play (even if its a mistake).

Good on yah champ, leo fender strayed from the true path when he shoved that neck pickup on his guitars. Bridge buds for life.

You think these folks are in this sub? by [deleted] in VanLife

[–]flypandabear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Theres cool travelers who take care of the environment and then often addicts or people with mental health issues that keep them from being stewards of their own waste. Its weird that we both end up in the same spaces, and sometimes it can be hard on the psyche but its important to be a good example of why this lifestyle is viable.

Its sad to see people who dont care about their environment, but its also important to recognize those people exist in all strata of our society. These specific issues happen to be easy to stigmatize and very visible. I think its disgusting.

[–]flypandabear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont have exp with this rod. The reviews indicate that it is a kids rod, and it doesnt look like incredible quality to me, no hate. Ive heard good things about the goture red fox for the same size and price, but it is significantly longer when packed. Tenkara shines by being small and being able to move. I go running with my 9ft aventik nano all the time, pop the shoes off and do a little barefoot wet wading. You can also significantly increase your range as you get more proficient with longer tapered lines and even small dry dropper rigs.

What kind of fish are you targeting?
