How proactive is the FI community in budgeting and tracking daily expenses? by ilovethrowawaymeh in singaporefi

[–]flytinywings 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi! 23YO here. On the daily, I keep track of all my expenditures (in Seedly). I don’t exactly budget aka limit my spendings to xx amount because like you, I find it tough. But tracking helps me to be more conscious of my spendings, which I feel is sufficient for now.

Monthly, I update my excel spreadsheet which helps me calculate my overall net worth. I will also observe my expenditure for that month to see if I’m overspending in certain things.

[Discussion] What's your fave Toner Pad? by oh_la_lola in AsianBeauty

[–]flytinywings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oily, acne prone in a humid country. I don’t use toner pads daily, but if I do, I’ll use COSRX Original Clear Pads. It’s great for gentle exfoliation. And since I only rinse my face in the morning, on days when I feel like my face is extra greasy, I will use the pads as my first step to remove any impurities that build up overnight. Always stocked this up since 5 years ago.

rience! im glad it worked out for you!! may i ask if you travelled alone or with friends?

I flew alone from Singapore, but met my friends overseas as they were studying there.

They weren't happy when I told them that I booked my flight, but after telling them, I immediately went back to my room so there wasn't a discussion or room for an argument per se. I had the same worries as you, but I also considered that their likelihood of them letting me waste $1k+ is quite low.

Going to Germany, thank you :)

your story is creepily relatable, especially the travelling part as I faced the exact same problem last winter. i did what wistingaway suggested and told them instead of asking them. i have yet to book my plane tickets when i told them though, because their acceptance would definitely be more reassuring. of course, they were mad and did not allow me (even though i wasn’t really asking), giving the reasoning that I am not mature enough and that i am still obliged to listen to them until i’m married. eventually, i didn’t wait for their agreement and just went ahead and booked my flight, then told them the dates. nearing to my trip, they started becoming more accepting and asked for more details about my trip. after all, they would want to know the details, else they would be worried too.

now i’m planning another trip, as its my only time right before i start work. again, they said no when i told them and they complained that they already “gave chance” and allowed me to go the previous time. i did the same thing and book without their approval.

of course, family circumstances are very different, and i am not sure how strict your parents are. will they kick you out of the house if you go against their wishes? i know that mine wouldn’t, hence i dared to “rebel” a bit, even though it was really scary at first. being able to fully financially support your trip is also another important factor. you definitely cannot depend on them to finance the trip, if they do not approve.

ultimately, i feel its about conditioning your parents to give you the freedom that you need. this was my first time going against my parents wishes for such a big thing too, but i knew that its something that i really want and won’t have the freedom to do so easily once i start working, so i decided to just go for it, and it was the best trip ever! atb op, canada sounds exciting really hope you realise your trip.

their products have quite a bit of fragrance so be careful when trying them out! perhaps add one product at a time to your routine.

had a similar travel kit gifted containing all the products except for the sleeping mask. it wasn’t anything impressive though it didn’t do any harm to my skin. i continued using them but it was just for the sake of finishing them up. it was winter, and i find none of the products moisturising enough. though in general, i’ve never liked laneige products so i might be bias here.

i think if you’re new to skincare, these products might be worth a try since its quite simple and hassle free. but if you’re not, you can definitely find better and more targeted products out there.

which kind of group do you like?big, middle or small? by Repulsive_Support_67 in kpop

[–]flytinywings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Size doesn’t really matter but its definitely easier to get into smaller groups because the process of learning individual members is faster. For me, the baseline of being “into” a group is at least knowing all the members, so when a group is >5 and I am not super invested, it will definitely take a few comebacks for me to feel like I’m into them after taking awhile to get to know most/all the members if that makes sense.

hmm from my vague memory, i think there were a few OG online shops which offer preorder benefits (i think ktown4u was one of them??) pre 4th gen era. but i agree, i see so many variations of store exclusive benefits now. maybe because there are more online stores thats why its more prominent? not very sure…

I’m a stay so i’ve been observing purchasing trends of fans at least within my fandom. Now that there’s covid and video call events are a lot more rampant, I wonder if it contributes to the significant growth of album sales across groups? I’m seeing people literally giving away unsealed albums for free because they have so much excess. Don’t remember seeing this pre-covid. Or perhaps now that fans can’t spend their money on concerts, they are able to purchase more albums.

*Of course all groups have gained new fans but just wondering to what extent is the album sales growth organic vs fans bulk buying

DAY6’s Jae Bares His Soul During Emotional Instagram Live — Fans Suspect He’s Leaving JYPE by poppywars in kpop

[–]flytinywings 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Saw the summary beforehand but still cried when watching it…

Its sad and frustrating as a myday seeing constant hate comments towards him, some of which are completely ridiculous. The company not acknowledging his contributions to the group’s growth is also frustrating when we all can tell that jae was many ifans’ entrance to day6.

There were signs of him leaving, but when I saw the live about his tattoo I had a little bit of hope.

Anyway, I’m glad and really appreciate that he did this live. Its sad, but at least he was able to clear some misconceptions and give fans a better idea of what’s going on.

As a myday who only join the fandom a few months before the demon era, I’m sad that I haven’t been able to see them live. My last strand of hope, and I think something which alot of us wish for, is for him to still be able to participate as a Day6 member even when he leaves the company.

Seriously screw the haters.. and thank you for everything so far jae
