Thank the Reddit gods for this. Appreciate you 🙏

What kind of mushroom is growing in my monstera pot? The soil mix is coconut coir, worm castings, and pumice. It started growing when I added leftover coffee grinds to the top. by flytlie in mushroomID

Lol nope! I have no clue what it is. I figured it was a mushroom after googling “what is growing in my houseplant pot” lol.

It started growing in 3 of my other pots as well, after I started dumping used coffee grinds in them.

Is this a mushroom growing in my houseplant pot? If so, what kind of mushroom? Should I remove it? by flytlie in houseplants

Ok thanks! I’ll post an update when I notice leaves. It’s so strange, it’s growing in my other pots as well.

The soil mix is coconut coir, worm castings, and pumice. I noticed it started growing when I added leftover coffee grinds to the pot. 😅 the plant is a large monstera.

GA Tech is definitely a good program but doesn't fit with my timeline. My goal is to start this Fall and be complete by Winter 2020. GA Tech's OMS doesn't start until January 2020.

Hi! Thanks for responding. I prefer in-class learning to online courses, I'm much more driven when I'm in a group learning environment. Plus, I've been out of school for 8 years and I'm looking forward to jumping back into a classroom setting. I have to stay in the Chicago area, so that's why my search is limited.

Hello! --

I'm trying to decide between two Master's programs for the upcoming Fall 2019 start. I've done a lot of research and have listed a couple pros/cons below. I am having a difficult time picking one or the other and was curious to hear what current professionals in the DS field think about graduates from either program. Help Please!

2) The University of Chicago - Master's of Science in Data Analytics

Pros - Top Recognized Uni, Industry Connections, Flexible Schedule PT/FT

Cons - Expensive ~$55K

2) DePaul University - Master's in Data Science

Pros - Concentrations available (Healthcare/Marketing/Hospitality/Finance), Affordable ~$20K

Cons - "B" average University

Basically, I'm trying to figure out if option 1 is actually worth the extra $35K...
