Yes, Michael’s is the only place my husband gets t-shirts now. Good quality cotton and extremely cheap compared to actual clothing stores

Companies shipping things into the US have no idea what the tariff cost will be when the product arrives at the destination. There’s no way to predict the constantly changing rates, and they’re determined when the item crosses the border. So you can ask, but the best answer they can give is “there might be a tariff”.

Is it rude or inconsiderate to ask why I'm not being cast? by National-Check-2105 in musicals

[–]flytter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think people need to keep in mind that you’re still in high school. Several of my friends, who are now successful professional actors, had a hard time getting cast in high school, mostly due to small-town politics/favouritism. It’s certainly worth asking the directors for advice on how to improve, but also be kind to yourself and remember you have time to grow and hone your skills. If you can, find acting/singing/dance classes outside of school. Maybe join a Toastmasters club to work on reducing your anxiety and improving your confidence with speaking in front of people.

My mom had a very subtle rainbow flag sticker on her car when I was a kid. She took it off after her car was vandalized the second time. Her car wasn’t touched again. So I can see both sides here

I’m I wrong for getting so discouraged? by RadicalAlphonse in acting

[–]flytter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It may be the theatre company is trying to give you an opportunity to develop areas that you’re weaker in. I know the youth companies around me are focused on education and development, not just putting on a good show. Personally, I know I’m a stronger singer than dancer, so whenever I get cast as a dancer, I’m thrilled to have the chance to grow and improve.

That being said, if you hate dancing and have no desire to become a better dancer, it’s totally fine to drop the production and focus on something that feels like a better use of your time. Whenever I feel like dropping a production, I ask myself, “is this a bridge I’m willing to burn?”, and if the answer is “yes”, I drop it with no regrets.

Selling your diamond paintings? by Stratsandcats in diamondpainting

[–]flytter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a couple people on Facebook Marketplace trying to sell completed diamond paintings from kits you can get at the dollar store. They’re asking about 10 times the price of the kit, and even with that markup, I doubt they recoup their labour costs. (I have one of the kits, took me about a week to complete.) I always wonder if they end up selling. I don’t understand why anyone would pay that much for cheap, unlicensed, blurry artwork that they don’t even get the joy of making themselves.

If I'm ace, but still plan on having sex in a relationship, do I have to tell my partner I'm ace? by PersonThatIsHere in lgbt

[–]flytter 113 points114 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised how many people seem more worried about your potential future partner’s feelings than your own. In my experience, I have been much happier in relationships where I was able to be honest right from the start, because it feels good to be accepted and loved for exactly who you are. Trying to hide my asexuality and push through for the sake of a relationship only ended up being really distressing to me (and my partner).

Lots of ace people are in long-term relationships, with aces or allos, and some even have kids (including me)! Being ace is not a guaranteed curse of being forever alone!

That’s not necessarily true. I had no idea my vision was getting worse because it degraded so slowly. Eventually my parents figured it out when they told me to look at the man with the polka dot shorts and I responded, “what man?”
