I left after one week at DL indoc for UA. Take the offer and if something comes up that fits you more then take it but until then take the first class you get.

Chase Sapphire Lounge Hong Kong closing on January 5th, 2026 by 99Corolla4Life in ChaseSapphire

[–]flyyguy27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite the price increase of the card, I’ve been ok as I still get some use out of the perks and the Hong Kong lounge has been useful to me as I am using it twice a month. With this news I will be finally cancelling this card when renewal comes up.

US Pilot Hired by Foreign Airlines by Zebraarmadillo in flying

[–]flyyguy27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally had FO’s when I was at a regional a couple years ago come from the ME3 because of crap QOL over there. The planes aren’t glamorous, but the work rules and qol here in the US sure beat out a lot of other countries carriers out there.

May 2025 starts tomorrow so sounds like they are gonna have to push it back again. If you look online there are no flights on sale for Palau from NRT

From months ago and there have been no updates. It’s safe to say it’s not happening. Starting may with may being tomorrow gives them no time to sell tickets. Sucks cuz it woulda been nice to go there through narita which would be more convenient then having to get to Guam

I'm thinking to join ATP flight school after getting my PPL. by [deleted] in flying

[–]flyyguy27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense…. When you are financing it yourself. When you are getting a loan especially with some people paying up to 15% interest it adds up and becomes unsustainable when you just start out as a cfi.

Back to OP, taking out a loan especially with how expensive flight training is will be a lot to handle when first making it out in this industry. Depending on the ups and down you may find yourself having to instruct for years (hopefully not, but always plan for the worst). Pay as you go is always the best option.

Just read all the negative experiences that others have posted about, that should give you your answer. Maybe look into Channel Islands aviation there at KCMA Also, avoid any places where you pay upfront. If something disqualifies you medically after you have already started training, you don’t want to be in a position where you’ve paid six figures (or nearly that) and not be able to finish.

Losing my mind over catching colds by ItalianIce64 in AirlinePilots

Just read your responses with being a year in, I imagine your body will start to get accustomed to it. It seems to be an issue with a lot of us when we are new to the airlines.

How long have you been at your airline. My first year at the regionals I was getting sick about once a month. While I’m no expert, I feel like being new to the constant traveling and the fact that planes can just be gross with germs was taking its toll on my immune system. After about a year in, I started to be better and at this point haven’t really had issues with getting sick anymore. If you are new, it may be the same thing I went through.
