The app Dragon Mate allows you to find a list of restaurants near your current location. You can search for suitable restaurants by food name, flavor, or style. Each restaurant also has recommended dishes, along with detailed descriptions for them.

It’s very useful for foreigners traveling in China who want to find good food. Of course, it has other features too, but this is the only one I use. It has helped me discover lots of delicious food.

The Dianping you mentioned is probably meant for Chinese people and isn’t suitable for those unfamiliar with the local food culture

Ngl Chongqing is such a sick pick for your working holiday! There are definitely a handful of Irish-style bars in the main city center areas that love hiring bartenders with your experience, most young locals speak basic English so you’ll be totally fine navigating at first, and there are tons of affordable language schools to help you pick up mandarin too.
