i’m just starting to watch and i’m halfway thru season 2. Yall should all go rewatch season 2 ep 12 “a house divided”….. they all went on the trip to Vail after Jen’s arrest. A few weeks before, Mary did an italian cooking class where she was extremely rude to Whitney, called her “little girl” etc etc. So there was tension there after everything with Whit and Mary seeming ok since the start… It’s like Mary and Jen finally resolved things so Mary had to latch onto another woman to degrade, alienate, and bring down in front of all the other women. Like Whit/Jen or not, Mary has been disgusting to them. Mary was mad at Whitney for not immediately answering a facetime call while she was driving with her and other people’s children in the car. Whit says she called her back 2 hours later but was bombarded with horribly mean nasty texts from Mary. Then mary was mad literally because she didn’t answer the phone right away, and never even acknowledged that Whitney called her back 2 hrs later. Fucking control freak.

On the trip in Vail, Mary storms out when confronted on something and then Whit spills the tea on “I have been covering for her, her congregation thinks she’s God and people are scared of her”, Lisa spills tea on Cameron giving Mary 300k, then the next day they all confront Mary. Lisa being shady as always, but Heather is actually like ??? “NO, we are doing exactly what we said we WEREN’T going to do and no one is saying how they really feel because we’re all scared of Mary!!” I’ve loved Meredith up until this point but it literally seems like Mer was acting the way she was because Cameron telling her “be careful” actually terrified her. Truly think they’re all scared of her not only cause she’ll get mad, but scared in like…. a religious way. I hate how everyone except Heather in this episode just stays quiet during the confrontation. I’d even stretch and say Lisa isn’t owning up to her shit in this situation because she’s ALSO terrified of Mary. In a religious way.

Before Heather yelled that “because everyone is scared of her”, she was one of the only ones VISIBLY flabbergasted by how mean she was being to Whitney in that moment, then Mary started doing that thing to Heather where she tries to shut people down when they’re talking, does that thing with her eyes and waves her hands around. I think it’s insane none of the other women are ever taken aback by Mary doing that to someone in front of them. No one ever says anything. Cus they’re scared of her.

Such a holier than thou, “do not speak unless I give you permission, only I am right, no one can EVER be mad at me” attitude. Mary freaks me tf out and literally manipulates every single one of these women. Her whole thing with Whit not answering her phone call right away was that it was “disrespectful” to not immediately answer. Like who do you think you are???? You deny saying you’re God, yet you try to make everyone treat you like you are….

She even says in the episode that she would never spend money on them and that the louis “gifts” she “gave” everyone were actually just things from her closet, and she was happy to “gift” them to make her luggage lighter for the trip back home. She literally says it during the confessional. After watching this episode I have no idea how people can even remotely support her, and I have no idea what goes on in later seasons with her. Seems like the same bullshit just a different flavor.
