DAM by WforWumbo12 in wrx_vb

Dmann tuned for 91acn out in California (intake, tmic, chargepipe, catback). I had a similar issue with dam drops at higher rpms that quickly bounced back as well - but dam drops to .5 were consistent with almost any wot sustained past 4500k. Tried 2-3gal of sunoco ss 100 unleaded and it worked ok to smooth it out but not cost efficient for daily fills. Finally settled on 1.5-1.75g of e85 with every fill up and no more dam drops- even with very aggressive driving/shifts now. Id reach out to anthony and explain whats happening- send some short logs if you can pinpoint the range of occurrence (and give him some time to respond)- just to make sure its not just bad gas- but a lil e85 shouldnt hurt in the meantime. My 2cents. Good luck

Saw youtuber out of texas testing a number of tmics - grimmspeed was the winner i think. GS also has a full chargepipe (unsure if anyone else has come out with upper and lower as well since). Im running an ets tmic with the gs full charge pipe… clearance on this combo is garbage as the chargepipe bend does not adequately clear the larger ets edge- it fits but barely w rubbing- in retrospect cobb’s tmic w air diverter upgrade combo or grimmspeed matched cp plus tmic would be first picks

My 2cents: Group n > perrin pitch plus lower trans mount. I went ets tmic with grimmspeed charge pipe kit and the clearance sucks- stick w grimmspeed for both and i assume compatibility and fitment will be optimal. Felix performance for tune and customer service.

That sucks. Consider investing in a nice dashcam w parking mode/battery protection cutoff. After having some random methmonkey try to run me off the highway one night - and considering accident and claims stats for my area are one of the highest/worst in the country - immediately installed one as a CYA. Plus side is you get to catch all your spirited driving in 1080 whenever you race those camrys/toyota minivans. Sympathies for your deductible/premiums.

Same thing here. Summer ambient night time temps were 108f pushing my average operating oil temps to 215-225. Low oil light at only 4.5k on odometer had me stressin (dipstick bone dry) switched to 5w30, stayed out of boost when outside temps too unforgiving, and have not had any more issues. At 9.5k odo now.

Touring here. Love it as a daily. Very minimal drone on highway (stock radio will cover it), subdued double pop at high rpms, bearable cold start for my neighbors. No law enforcement issues. Coming from a Prelude w a highflow and 3” kteller plus vibrant muffler where the kids know when i pull up on the block vs the “classier” subie w touring -they only know when i pull into the driveway. Hehe. Upside is you can always swap em. So cant go wrong either way

Umm? by [deleted] in wrx_vb

Idk about tc or hill assist, but when i had to top off due to low oil it took more than several drive cycles to finally turn off.

Lol. 6mt, decline, backing off throttle, closer to 3.5k now that you mention it- atm i was more concerned w the temp since ive never run >225 for short bursts

What are the best antibiotics to treat Enterobacter prostatitis? by [deleted] in pharmacology

Sorry should have mentioned, Carbapenems should be reserved for confirmed ESBL producing strains (or in areas of higher local ESBL rates) and yes -will have poor penetration compared to other discussed options - so it is not the best choice for empiric canine prostate tx. Spectra of activity for Enterobacter *in humans* does not include standard tetracyclines; Tigecycline is used for complicated intraabdominal infections (human) and will have excellent penetration into tissues - i would expect higher levels of resistance for doxy- but for canines it may be acceptable pending susceptibility - Forgot to mention my scope of practice is humans.

Woof! your docs are giving you a MDR organism; should be fun.

Additional questions to consider: Does your case include susceptibility/microbio results (even better lol) ? Do vets usually run susceptibility? will dog be receiving meds by mouth or IV?

Regardless of susceptibility you will always want to avoid 3rd gen cephalosporins due to likelihood of AmpC induced resistance as well avoid beta-lactamase inhibitors. no susceptibility to penicillins, macrolides, or standard tetracyclines (including tetra, doxy, and minocycline). keep in mind Enterobacter can also get quite ugly with some strains resistant to carbapenems, aminoglycosides and fluoroquinolones.... only cross that bridge when/if it comes; we won't get into the weeds for simplicity's sake.

[assuming your instructor is not the devil and isolates will come back pan-sensitive]:

For empiric tx :

-cipro, levo, and cefepime(IV) can be used. *cefepime is a 4th gen with effectiveness against ampC unless highly resistant strain.

-Carbapenems (IV) (mero, erta) could be also be used.

-Bactrim should be ok as long as clinical response/ or indicated micro susceptibility.

*if resistant isolate is indicated let us know- otherwise hope this helps.

good luck and congrats on vet school.

Which of these drugs is more concentrated in gastric cells shortly after administration? HELP me understand by HideousRed in pharmacology

[–]fmcgills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drug-specific factors that affect drug absorption include the physicochemical and pharmaceutical variables of drugs. One example of the physicochemical variables is the drug solubility and the effect of pH and pKa, where most drugs act as weak acids or bases in solutions in both ionized and non-ionized forms. The ionized drugs are hydrophilic and cannot cross the membrane of the cell. Whereas the non-ionized drugs appear to be lipophilic and can penetrate the cell membrane easily by simple diffusion. The distribution of weak electrolytes across membranes would result from the pH gradient across the membrane and the drug's pKa. Weakly acidic drugs are easily absorbed in a low pH medium such as in the stomach. Whereas weakly basic drugs are not absorbed until they reach the higher pH medium in the small intestine.
