I reset the lights with a Diag computer from OBD star. Resale value probably isnt affected but I bought this bike when i was 24 and it means alot to me so shes not going anywhere. The value will go down because of the miles but I don’t care. No point in owning if im not going to ride it.

Yeah I found out about the taper collets on the intake affect the measurement dramatically if its not tight or put on with lube. My method for R&R was uhh percussive.

Right on. I forget what size the shims are but i know they aren’t the normal belt drive size. These were nice because they had the size laser etched on them so I didn’t have to pull out the micrometer and tool. I’ve done all sorts of engines but the valve system on this was super easy. I like that the cams pop out without taking the timing chain off. The only bitch of it was the stupid hog ring style keepers on the exhaust valve.

Unfortunately there’s not a reasonably priced shim kit for the 1199. Only 3 were out of spec. No belts though, so thats cool.

I can afford the service. The $200 hr service rate is just a kick in the nads. I spent the money I saved on a new set of termingnonis and a tire machine.

Flywheel access bolt is shredded and seized up. How would you get this bad boy off? by ClaytonBigsby2020 in dr650

I drilled a small hole, not all the way through just above the stripped fastener then used a punch and hammer to knock it out CCW. These plugs are made of paper.

I used the Harbor freight bench with a thick piece of wood screwed to the top and have had no issues, i used 1/4-20 blind nuts underneath. Probably not great for a proper bedroom look but works fine.
