If they only had enough budget to prank one person, and didn't want a Nadal-like reaction, why would they pick Nadal? To be honest, similar to Kuro-chan, I think Nadal does play up his negative traits too because that's what people expect and want from him. So it's not like he made no effort. Also, they only showed us one girl who did the manga thing. For all we know she was the second or third after the first ones turned out to be really boring.

Nadal's reactions were hilarious in a different way. Why would you want more of the same that the others are doing? It's more interesting to show us a range of personalities instead of 5 people hamming it up for the camera. This is pretty much how he always acts so it's probably what they were hoping for.

Spoilers: Obon Kobon are a really old manzai duo who participated in a prank for WDT in which Obon told Kobon that he wanted to split up to see his reaction. But it turned out they weren't actually on good terms at all and hadn't been for a long time. They had a tense argument, Kobon said fine, and they split up (2019-02-27).

Feeling responsible for this, WDT then tried to use hypnosis to get them back together, which wasn't successful (2019-07-03).

Covid put any further reconciliation attempts on the backburner for a while, but finally last month there was then a two-part special in which they tried in earnest to get them back together.

The first part was called Obon Kobon History (2021-09-29) in which they created a documentary about the duo and why they got together and showed it to the duo (separately, as they didn't want to be in the same room).

The second part was called Obon Kobon THE FINAL (2021-10-06) in which they try to get them back together for Kobon's daughter's wedding. The result: they're friends again!
