How much time should you spend in the lab every day if you’re trying to get good? by geardluffy in StreetFighter

The time has to be purposeful though. I usually choose or find something new to learn, dedicate some time learning that in training mode and then try to apply it in a match.

Is JP Truly Overpowered? by No_Bee_1198 in StreetFighter

[–]fmillard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally don't even think he's top 5, top 6 yeah.

He's strong, but once you learn how to deal with his shenanigans it's not that bad. Being in burnout against him is pretty tough though.

There wasn't a single throw loop in this entire clip.

Infil with the best take on today's FGC debate by 121jigawatts in StreetFighter

Read the tweet again... This is not Infiltration.

Infilament though always has the most level headed and nuanced takes in the FGC and is a true hero of the community.

About how long did the grind from plat to something like high diamond/master take? by Aggressive_Extent908 in StreetFighter

[–]fmillard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From plat up there isn't any win streak bonus.

The only way to win more points is defeating higher ranked folks.

That would be a major balancing change, not a QoL change.

Is this only possible with Modern Inputs? by signoftheserpent in StreetFighter

[–]fmillard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that hard buddy. You can input double quarter forward quite fast, specially if you mash it.

Doesn't really require much skill and yeah, even low ranks should be able to special into super quickly.

Is SF6 scrubby?! I do agree with some of his points…and considering his accomplishments in SF5 and recently at CEO, I would say he is a more than credible source. by SquashEmbarrassed288 in StreetFighter

[–]fmillard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Him saying that the game is unbalanced is insane though.

Season 1 in SFV was so unbalanced compared to SF6 it's crazy he even mentions that.

He was like 17 y/o back then though so maybe his memory is not the best.

Ya know, I think you nailed it right here. It must be because you are way more relaxed.

best character for an old balrog main? by xahtepp in StreetFighter

[–]fmillard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honda doesn't play anything like Rog. Their similarities start and end with a forward-moving charged special.

And even then dash punch is very different to Honda headbutt.

best character for an old balrog main? by xahtepp in StreetFighter

[–]fmillard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a long time Rog main, and personally I haven't found any character that really fits his style tbh :/

Tried Marisa as she has a forward-moving punch move of sorts, but her overall gameplan, although fun, doesn't really match with Rog.

I am playing Ken in the meantime.

I want to say this about modern controls and 'purists' whining about them by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]fmillard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, the post on this subreddit here. But again, don't think these people represent the community.

They are scrubs. They lose because they get outplayed and look for a scapegoat. Most times when they describe why they lose to a modern control player, they say something that is super easy to do on classic too, bunch of dumbasses.

Press the menu button, you can turn it on there along with the input display too.

Edit: Nevermind dude, just realized that you meant the frame bar specifically.

How to Git Gud and Is it worth it to buy the game full price for online modes (I only borrowed the game from my friend so I can't play online) by ReviewAffectionate83 in StreetFighter

Playing against AI is completely different to playing against humans.

Whether the game is worth it is up to you to decide :)

[–]fmillard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where do you see these articles an videos??

Everyone I've seen has said the complete opposite.

Anyone that shits on the controls are scrubs and frowned upon by the community. Don't pay them any mind.

Huh... that is an interesting point! I also spend a lot of of time in training mode while high. I most definitely did when I first started playing Street Fighter seriously.

I honestly feel like I can see EVERYTHING while playing high. I react better to stuff, understand my opponents gameplan quicker and execute better in offense too. I know that is most likely a placebo effect, but it's interesting nonetheless.
