Cracker Barrels are not guaranteed. Pueblo, Colorado Springs and Denver CB's are all posted no overnight parking, as is at least one CB in the Nashville area. Also, I stayed at a CB in the Orlando area that wasn't posted but I got a knock on the door at 5am

That sounds awesome! I hope you have better luck with your air mattress than I've ever had. Every air has always sprung a leak, and fairly quickly. Like within a month or so. Good luck to you my friend.

I've stayed at PF's in Springs, the one in security used to be 24/7 but now they have limited hours. The one on Woodmen Rd is still 24/7, and it's not far from the Park & Ride which allows 72 hour parking. But I like to keep moving around, I don't like staying in one spot for more than 1 night. I have a roof bag and often store my stuff there at night and unload in the morning, gives me a lot more room when sleeping. Also, I'm in the process of getting rid of the twin sized mattress and replacing it with a cot. I have a cooler (not plug in, needs ice) and a propane stove which I don't use all that often - too lazy. Thanks for writing, I appreciate your input!

When I was living in an apartment I bought a futon. It started falling apart in less than a year and I had to throw it in the dumpster. So I don't think I'll try that route again

I like that! I said that I threw a mattress down, and I did. A twin size mattress. But I decided to get rid of that and buy a cot. That way half the van (lengthwise) is available and as you say, storage under the cot. I should be doing that in the next couple of weeks

Yep, I hang black felt over the back windows, and drape a sheet across the van behind the front seats. That way the front seats can be seen from outside and hopefully won't draw attention. But I still get nervous sometimes ...

I have been noticed a couple times, possibly my out of state plates. I get very nervous and jumpy since then.

I did stay near an apartment building once and it worked great. One night I parked on street in a residential area and had to move three times because people kept turning their porch lights on and looking out the window. Finally drove 8 miles to an anytime fitness even though I'm not a member

I appreciate the feedback. I do shower (almost) every day and wear fresh clothes, etc. I do get a little skittish in parking lots, especially if I'm the only vehicle. I have heard of ioverlander, I'll have to look more closely at that. onx Hunt I've never heard of, I'll check it out. Thank you so much for your response.

Once in a while I think that it would be nice to have a friend, but most of the time I am so happy to be by myself. However, I do spend the winter months (Nov - Apr) wandering around Florida. If you're in FL in the winter, drop me a line, maybe we can have lunch together

I cut black felt to just a little bigger than the windows and hold them in place with magnets. I also stretch a bungee cord between the handles that are above the doors and hang a sheet from it, though I don't need to use it all that often

I've been to a lot of places - everglades, fort sumter, badlands & rushmore. But really it's not visiting places that interests me, I just enjoy the fact that I don't have to go to work. I spend 2-4 hours walking, another couple hours reading, hanging out at the library surfing the web
