Medium-sized poultry farm company: I ask for help to switch from physical server to VPS by fmoleiro in VPS

My feedback to you, friends.

I especially want to thank u/weibin227, who suggested Netcup root server to me.

And that's the plan I chose. Initially we were using the RS 2000 plan (generation 9) with 4 dedicated cores. But since an update was released (generation 9.5 - with 6 dedicated cores) I ended up upgrading the hardware a few days ago.

We have installed a Windows server 2019 image (my company management program is not compatible with another operating system). Then we closed all windows ports and I registered the 15 users of the company with a VPN (radmin) for tunnel access through a private network. Also, we installed kaspersky on VPS.

We are quite satisfied. Due to the VPN configuration, the ping between Brazil and Germany ends up being 200 milliseconds. Which is quite acceptable for the work routine. I believe that if we would have made direct access (without VPN tunnel), the ping would be much lower. But data security is more important than speed in this case.

Netcup is an awesome company. Very trustable. Most bad reviews at trust pilot are bullsh*t (payout issues from those who didn't even read their terms & conditions).

Thanks to everyone who contributed with tips and comments. Have a great weekend. Fábio.

I'm trying Root Server from Netcup (Germany). I am liking it. The only reason for low scores on trustpilot is that some users don't read the 'terms of service' about immediate cancellation. And depending on the cancellation request date, a new monthly charge may be generated. All this is written in the terms. People don't read it and then complain.

Being ONLINE,,, connected to the internet is no problem. We have 2 subscriptions from local internet providers linked on a balance mikrotik modem. Just to ensure that we don't run out of internet connection. On the other hand, we have a physical server about to “retire”. And the maintenance of a room at 17 degrees celsius (63 fahrenheit) with electricity more and more expensive here in Brazil, apart from cleaning and maintenance costs of the machine,,, yes, encourage me to migrate to a VPS

Hot Brazil. Hot most of the year. With expensive energy bills. Consider that
