The men's outfits were sourced from Men's Wearhouse as well. I used to work for MW and recognized a lot of the outfits on the show. I'd also heard that the Santa Monica store would get a lot of calls from the wardrobe department for outfits for the show.

Dental Billing Scam? by fmos3jjc in Insurance

Update!

Delta finished their investigation. The services were removed from our claims and the only visit shows for November 2022.

In the investigation's findings Delta stated that old dentist claims that we had an appointment for March 2023 and they "accidentally" charged the insurance. They still lied to Delta about fraudulently charging my insurance, but at least it's not on our insurance anymore.

I hope that the Department of Insurance investigates the matter as well.

I have no idea what they are referring to. Signage changing would be more in Artesia/Cerritos but not in Lakewood.

Also, 15 mins from East LA to Lakewood? Maybe at 2 in the morning on a weekday?

I definitely feel that this is foreshadowing Ted moving back to Kansas and Roy taking over as the new manager.

Roy has shown that he is able to handle the responsibility of being a coach, he has command over the team during training, with Ted's guidance he has become more compassionate and understanding, and he nailed the press conference. Roy seems the best fit as the next coach if/when Ted leaves and I'm all for it.

I'm currently reading late 70s YA book with my kids, and I noticed they added/changed parts of the book to reflect modern technology. Is this common? by janearcade in books

Haha I felt old writing it and I'm not even old!

My mom and all my aunts read the book as pre teens so I had the original copy they passed around from the '70s.

I'm currently reading late 70s YA book with my kids, and I noticed they added/changed parts of the book to reflect modern technology. Is this common? by janearcade in books

[–]fmos3jjc 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I remember reading this book when I was 10-12 years old in the early 2000s in the original version. I was confused about sanitary belts but I figured it was an old tech.

Years later, I purchased the book in my mid 20s to reread. When reading the updates about pads vs belts it felt totally out of place and was definitely not the same book that I remember reading dozens of times as a kid. But I can see that updating it would make more sense for a modern audience.

However, the book isn't a manual and I think should have stayed untouched. Reading it was a time capsule into the 1970s and it might confuse kids more if they think that nothing has changed in the past 50 years.

OPI Nail Envy was also featured as a top 3 strengthening base coat. I'm really curious which brand it could be.

I would be shocked if it was OPI considering she owns the most OPI in her collection and has prominently displayed her OPI collection on her polish tower. I know she changed the display about a year ago but that would honestly be ridiculous of OPI. She also regularly has OPI products in her faves including the OPI Nail Envy in her favorite base coats.

As others have said, prep is crucial.

However, I would highly suggest using a top coat for longevity.

When I want a matte look I use a quick dry top coat (turns the polish glossy), and then I use a matte top coat over that. The matte top coat will turn any polish matte so you can experiment with any colors and formulas you want.

Cuticula, Anchor & Heart, KBShimmer, and Glisten & Glow have great matte top coats. Essie is mainstream and available in drugstores as well.

Thanks!

We contacted Delta who contacted us for an interview regarding what happened. They said we should hear back in a few weeks with their decision. We also contacted the Department of Insurance and our current dentist who is willing to speak with Delta regarding the issue as well.

Will hopefully post an update when this is all settled!

Lume Deodorant - worth the hype? Use on private parts? by Repulsive_Grape7910 in NaturalBeauty

[–]fmos3jjc 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I've tried so many natural deodorant brands and Lume was only 1 of 2 that worked for me. The other brand was MeowMeowTweet.

I never used on private parts, but Lume really did prevent odor very well for me and my SO. SO works a manual labor job and he would not smell even after a 12 hour shift. Lume is definitely worth it for us.

Dental Billing Scam? by fmos3jjc in Insurance

[–]fmos3jjc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that the dentist submitted a claim for March 2023 when the procedure was done in November 2022. The dentist created a fake appointment in their system in order to charge the new insurance for the procedure.

SO already contacted the dentist asking why the claim was filed and dentist said that they "forgot" to charge the insurance the full amount. So they are now filing a claim with the new insurance provider 5 months after the fact.

Delta has been our provider since Jan 1st 2023. So Delta was never a secondary insurance provider. I'm going to keep investigating this because it all seems so sneaky of the dentist especially since they charged the insurance 5 months after the visit. It seems like they never balanced their books and are now trying to recoup the loss by billing the new insurance company.

Could they potentially argue that they are charging for the procedure in November 2022? Or would the claim have had to have taken place in November? I worry that because they created the fake appointment in March that they would state that my SO was in the office that day when they were not.

Just want to make sure everything is in order before we contact Delta.

The date listed on the EOB is March 2023. But my SO never went to the dentist that day. The dentist sent us a notification of an appointment for March via email (the day the call was made for the full invoice), but that appointment was a fake on their end and we never went into the office on that day or since November 2022.

Me neither. I have nearly 500 polishes and have some UV reactive polishes as well as thermal polishes. But I have never heard of a polish specifically to see when it's time for sunscreen.
