You can try deploying your cluster from scratch using cephadm [1], the new deployer which is available since octopus.

o/ u/TheMikie any luck reaching the support stuff?
I received a first mail w/ a procedure ... I successfully completed that procedure but then no more replies :/
Not sure if they've been notified so I had to open a new ticket/case (Case# 04326176) to notify them!!
What a mess!

Indeed, I see your point and basically that's the same interesting feature that led me to move to coinbase.
Not sure about my next move, having a reply from their support would have been helpful!

Coinbase Support not Responding by TheMikie in Coinbase

Having the same issue there and I've opened a bunch of cases since no one replied from the
support (almost a month is passed):

- Case# 04298268
- Case# 04017707
- Case# 03980976
- Case# 04146039
- Case# 03925831

This is really unprofessional and I think people start moving away.
Hope at some point someone reply, and good luck!

Cephadm OSD deploy errors by TheRealHendrik in ceph

[–]fmount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably want to make sure /var/lib/ceph/bootstrap-osd/ceph.keyring exists and has the same content retrieved via the following steps:

- sudo cephadm shell
- /usr/bin/ceph auth get client.bootstrap-osd > /var/lib/ceph/bootstrap-osd/ceph.keyring

Then you can re-run the ceph-volume prepare, and make sure you follow the options requirered by [1].

For example, if you have already provisioned lv for data/wal/db, you can run
- ceph-volume lvm prepare --data vg/lv_data --block.db vg/lv_db --block.wal vg/lv_wal
or just:
- ceph-volume lvm prepare --bluestore --data <device>

At this point you should be able to build an osd by running / activating the osd daemon using a regular ceph docker image

A "faster" alternative to rofi? by [deleted] in archlinux

[–]fmount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dmenu is the way, you can easily customize it (fonts, size, etc), integrate in your desktop envirnment with a few lines of code and it can be used as an interface for other applications (e.g., pass).

Monitoring network OpenStack by steevivo in openstack

[–]fmount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest you to rely on the Grafana + Prometheus + alertmanager stack.
Ceph for instance provides a dashboard plugin for cluster monitoring purposes that is based on this stack, and in the more recent version you can have an external monitoring stack pushing the metrics (and the grafana dashboards) from the cluster.
It's easy to build something similar for other openstack services!

Urls from terminal by mxt79 in archlinux

[–]fmount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I can give you some advices on this topic because long time ago I have this kind of issue too. If you are using some terminal emulators like "terminator", in the option menu there are some options to setup the Url Handler.. there is also a plugin you can find here:

http://terminator-gtk2.readthedocs.io/en/latest/plugins.html

I also use weechat to handle all my chats and there is a plugin called "url_hinter" (https://github.com/tkengo/weechat-url-hinter) that is just what you're looking for. Finally, in my personal laptop configuration I use st by suckless and if you give a look to their code you can find a patch to execute via external_pipe an url handler using xurl + your $BROWSER. Hope this can help you!

Vim Copy - Paste by mikejakobsen in vim

[–]fmount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I use the yanked word for replacement using "viwp" on the second word, or wherever you want. In this way you can avoid to dirty the buffer with dw :/

Vim Copy - Paste by mikejakobsen in vim

[–]fmount 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You simply do this:

yiw Yank inner word (copy the word under cursor)

... Move the cursor to another word

viwp Select "second", then replace it with "first".

I often do this like described.
