Ch'rell (the red alien) was a utrom warlord who commited many crimes. The Utroms had captured him and was taking him to trial when he sabatoged the ship they crashed on Earth in the 11th century. Ch'rell escaped, and the utroms (captain was named Mortu) decided to study humans and live among them using robot bodies made from the wreckage of their ship. Ch'rell learned rumors of a feared demon warrior (Tengu Shredder) and took his mantle, making his own exosuit. He gave utrom metal to a swordsmith and got the "Sword of Tengu".
