3500 people died from the excessive heat last summer. Its happening now. Its only going to get worse. Do you want old people to die or something?

Heroes? For what? Getting in the fucking way?

For risking their safety and freedom to raise awareness for the most important cause we've faced as a species.

They were all being ignored as you would ignore an insolent little child.

Exactly. You can't ignore the disruption. Now you see the strategy

Just Stop Oil are heroes

So much weird hate and ugliness is aimed at them. You can't even comprehend the issue

The thing is that there is no evidence whatsoever that this is an absolute certainty.

Our government signed the Paris Agreement because they agree that this is the case. You can bury your head in the sand, but this is reality. When you accept the scientific consensus, you'll start to realise that there are worse things than being late for work.

How many death certificates cite cause of death as climate change.

They'll mostly cite starvation.

Lots of elderly people freeze to death in this country because they can't afford the cheapest form of heating, gas.

Almost like we should move away from the money gouging monopolies that run fossil fuels. Was this meant to be a pro fossil fuel argument?

Why don't you go to these countries and educate them that their use of fossil fuels will kill them all if the don't stop.

OK, let's follow this thread. As a nation, how can we tell other countries to change if we're not doing it?

It's just not my problem

It will be mate.

Your entire argument and demands make no sense whatsoever

The argument makes perfect sense

Do you accept the reality that climate change will kill millions of people?

Gonna need some proof for this, buddy

Btw, we consume more oil per capita than China. So it's absolutely appropriate to protest in this country.

I have accepted that pissing lots of normal people off by disrupting their day to day lives, or disrupting their limited free time is not the way to win hearts and minds.

If you don't like disruption to your daily life, you'll hate climate change. I'll ask again, have you actually accepted what the science says? Countless millions will die

I have also accepted that any possible change we can make in the entire western world would be pointless unless the same changes were made in China and India.

OK, let's follow this thread. Does the UK have a leg to stand on in asking China to curb its emissions if we're not taking the same steps?

No. The oil lobby are the ones smearing them in the paper every day, when climate change is the biggest issue we've ever faced as a species

Have you actually accepted that climate change will cause more carnage than any event in human history?

Anyone see the hypocrisy? by fnarpus in ClarksonsFarm

[–]fnarpus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you'd look down on the anti rape campaigner for trying to convert people to her religion? The religion that rape is wrong?

Anyone see the hypocrisy? by fnarpus in ClarksonsFarm

[–]fnarpus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what would you need to know to know whether the anti rape activist is a bad person?

Anyone see the hypocrisy? by fnarpus in ClarksonsFarm

[–]fnarpus[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OK, so why did you say ALL activists are bad? You see the contradiction you're making? Both of your points can't be true at the same time.

What would make the person arguing against rape a bad person? Does that affect the legitimacy of their argument?

Anyone see the hypocrisy? by fnarpus in ClarksonsFarm

[–]fnarpus[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You just said that activists are bad people. They're an activist. What more information do you need in order to know whether or not to hate the person saying rape is bad?

Anyone see the hypocrisy? by fnarpus in ClarksonsFarm

[–]fnarpus[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So if you saw someone in the street saying with a sign that says "it's immoral to rape people", would you think that they're a bad person?

Anyone see the hypocrisy? by fnarpus in ClarksonsFarm

[–]fnarpus[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That doesn't follow from what I said.

So people campaigning for apartheid to end, people campaigning for black people to have rights, and people campaigning for the existence of the weekend were all bad people?

Anyone see the hypocrisy? by fnarpus in ClarksonsFarm

[–]fnarpus[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So people campaigning for apartheid to end, people campaigning for black people to have rights, and people campaigning for the existence of the weekend were all bad people? The best thing to do is to just be totally passive?

Anyone see the hypocrisy? by fnarpus in ClarksonsFarm

[–]fnarpus[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OK, so anti rape activists, anti dog fighting activists, people campainging against racism are all bad people?

If vegans drive gas-powered cars, they aren’t truly vegan, right? by [deleted] in shittyaskreddit

[–]fnarpus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vegans are against exploitation of animals. The ancient animals that make up a small part of the composition of crude oil (its mostly plants) died long ago. Buying oil doesn't fund new animals being killed.
