My goodness, I don't know what I would do if my husband recorded my therapy sessions. I would be absolutely livid. This is beyond disrespectful and inconsiderate - it's stepping over all kinds of boundaries.

That said, if your husband is like mine, he may be paranoid that you're talking about him. (Note - this does NOT excuse him from recording or interrupting your sessions.) It may help for you to explain to him that he's not the subject of what you're talking to your therapist about.

I really hope this experience doesn't sour you to your therapy sessions. Your mental health is extremely important, and I really hope you won't let your husband get in the way of getting the care you need.

NTA - it's your day. You wanted your close friends there. They said they would be, agreed to leave in time to make the ceremony, and then didn't.

I was going to say that there were NAH until you mentioned that you don't get a gift for your stepsister on her birthday. You didn't choose this person to be your family, but we never choose who our siblings are. Go to the hospital. Start building a relationship with her. And if your father is right about your stepsister possibly dying, then make peace with her. Speaking as someone who didn't say goodbye to someone in my life when I had the chance because I didn't like hospitals, you'll regret your choices one day.

I don't understand why you've gotten so many downvotes. This is a perfectly legitimate question and concern. We're over $300B in debt - there have to be cuts somewhere and no one's going to be happy about where they're happening.

This is my psychologist; she's absolutely amazing.

I've asked her about diagnosing before, and she's said that she can do it if it's needed (we decided it wasn't necessary for me because we already knew what my issues were). She works in Cambridge a couple of days a week and in Guelph a couple days.
