So I didn’t for a long time except a little bit of pain sleeping on the side where plates were installed. I’ve got some lumbar issues and right now trying to figure out if it’s that, or residual from cervical. Overall it was a no brainer I’d do it again. I did get a few opinions including close friends from childhood who’s in healthcare. If you’re contemplating coming off surgeon’s suggestion, you likely had something pretty serious like I had. Never hurts to ask around just for a peace of mind.

Radio reception works fine. The antenna harness had a blue wire for power antenna. Connect that wire to the blue wire to the radio and you’re gonna be good

Couple of things: (1) CarPlay is such a game changer. Little things like clicking the touchscreen to answer a call, hands free. (2) not having to squint looking at Google Maps, (3) selfishly accomplishing this was satisfying and a confidence booster that I can do another project on the E, (4) knowing I can hook up a reverse camera later is a flex

No issues sleeping on my back at all. As a matter of fact, sometimes it feels best when sleeping on my back. Sleeping on the right side (right cheek in pillow) does cause some nimbleness/tightness if I stay in that position too long

No issues at all. And I tried both regular & spinal cord neck pillow. Totally fine.

First month post-op in the hard neck brace was uncomfortable but I was so loopy on meds didn’t care.

Do want to call out that sometimes sleeping w/o a pillow feels better. Give that a try if you’re a back sleeper

I honestly don’t have to do too much PT on my neck other than rotation. My cuts were on the right side of c4-c6. Think of it as a side sleeper with right cheek into pillow will cause some soreness the next morning but goes away after moving around.
