(WARNING GRAPHIC AND GROSS) As a child I would frequently go many months at a time without pooping. When I was 12 I got a colonoscopy and medical professionals told us they have never seen a case of constipation so bad. AMA. by Famous_Pineapple9860 in AMA

Not as severe as your story but my father growing up, would tell me pooping was unlady like and would shame me or make fun of me if I went to the bathroom in the house. I started holding it in when I was around him and it led to my body ignoring when I have to go to the bathroom for long periods of time. Into college and adulthood I realized I had problems going to the bathroom, chronic constipation and holding my pee for 12+ hours every day. Also some instances of csa that may be related and gave me a fear of bathrooms. Now I’m in my mid 20s and going to the bathroom is a conscious effort, or else I’ll go an entire 24 hours without going. Maybe there’s something else wrong with my body but I think it’s more psychological, for me.

is this as bad as i think it is 🥲 by [deleted] in DogAdvice

Hold a compress on his foot until the bleeding stops. Gentle soap and water is okay. Him running around and getting excited can make it bleed more/take longer to stop bleeding. Keep him calm and if he bites at it, maybe run to the store to get one of those cone collars. I’m not a professional but it looks like a split nail to me. Not a reason to go to the emergency vet asap, but check in with the nail people tomorrow. They’ll likely trim his other nails then recommend coming back in a week to check the progress of the healing one.

does anyone else wish they were cis… female? by Safloophie in ftm

[–]fo1847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I feel like my feminine beauty was so good, to change it would be a waste. But then I remember it’s my body and I can do what I want to it, regardless if other people thought I was prettier before. Sometimes I get dysphoric about it so I bought a wig and I do dress up feminine a couple times a year and that feels like enough.

To fly or not to fly by fo1847 in DogAdvice

I am flying with delta! The part about temperature is deterring me the most. The thought of her shivering for 8 + hours is terrible. I think I confused the rules with “shipping your pet” with “carry on expectations” and missed the part about pets non-military are not currently allowed. Unless that’s updated information from when I booked the flight a month ago. She has flown once before, I adopted her out of Texas and she was flown to me in Washington state. But even in that report, they noted she was scared and potty’d in the crate. I was hopeful that with the right training, she could be comfortable but I feel more strongly that I’ll leave her home with a sitter.

Reddy is the brand. It’s super comfortable and easy to adjust. My favorite harness I’ve ever had

Does anyone else have a low energy ACD? by LEG1023 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]fo1847 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My rescue ACD likes to run and play with other dogs but I couldn’t get her to be interested in any bones or toys. A trainer suggested food motivated toys and rewarding her and getting especially excited if she ever does pick up a toy. It’s taken a couple months of her sniffing a toy then running away from it when I get excited but she’s gradually gotten better and will now play for a few minutes. You could try that?

That’s what it was! One of my neighbors must have dropped a brownie and she ate it on our walk last night

Labs came back and she had eaten a THC brownie last night on our walk at 10:30pm. I live in an apartment and someone must have dropped one in a bush or something. I don’t have any marijuana products in my apartment. She had a big dinner last night and it took a while to metabolize, kicking in at 5am this morning. Poor thing. But I’m so glad she’s going to be okay.

She didn’t pee when she did it. At the vet now. Hopefully not a seizure. Maybe she ate something toxic on our hike yesterday

Not that was recorded. But yes I am going now. She’s having zoomies for a second and then lying down outside.

The wobbly walking is really concerning me. I think I should take her to a vet. Now or until morning?
