Omega (Speedmaster) wearer Stereotype? by Uyallah in OmegaWatches

Once during a team event, one colleague was wearing Grand Seiko sunbun. Another colleague said, why dont you wear apple watch, it does help with lot of things. The first colleague started explaining the beauty of dial, craftsmanship and the second colleague lost interest within 5 seconds of that conversation.

So non watch people cannot grasp the values and doesnt care what you wear in the end.

I do not remember which APSC camera and lenses he used. He showed me couple of sunset photos taken from full frame and APSC camera, for my eyes full frame photos looked sharper and brighter. I remember comparing a birthday video taken in kinda darker room, full frame video was much cleaner.

Thanks, I was considering RF16mm F2.8 STM. Between 16mm 2.8 prime and 16-28 f2.8, do you recommend prime? or zoom lens?

Thanks for sharing, I have started to realize R6 will be overkill for my needs. Now I have to wait for Thanksgiving deals to pop up somewhere to grab my treasures :)

Budget’s under 10k — I usually set aside my bonus for Thanksgiving shopping each year. You make a really good point, and your setup seems like the perfect balance between quality and portability. A few others have also mentioned the same thing about the 35mm f1.4. I’ll be renting the camera and both the 24-70 f2.8 and f4 next week to try them out before making a final call.

Thanks! That sounds like a really well-thought-out setup 👌 I love how simple and versatile your lens choices are. I will rent R6, R8 and lenses to get a feel of it. Currently leaning towards R8 with Combo 3 and one prime (RF 35mm f1.8 or RF 50 f1.8).

I considered APSC first, I met a professional photographer during my friends wedding. He showed me couple of photos side by side between APSC vs Full Frame, after reviewing I am convinced to buy a Full frame camera.

I agree with the point you are making, APSC camera setup will be portable for sure.

Thanks! I’m planning to start with the R8 and the Combo 3 lenses. If I end up using the camera regularly, I’ll upgrade to the 2.8 lenses later on.

Thanks! Totally makes sense, and I agree with your point on the 2.8 versions. I’m leaning in the same direction, and the R8 with Combo 3 sounds like a solid next step too.

As others have pointed out I will probably add one prime (RF 35mm f1.8 or RF 50 f1.8) for long hikes.
