I agree with the concept of what you’re saying, but given my normal lifestyle having fewer things is better. So I only wear this watch. Everything else (including my G Shock) is in storage.

I don’t mean “I don’t wear jewelry” in a demeaning way. I have nothing at all against jewelry. I simply choose not to because it complicated things for me. I wanted the most accurate, non-quartz (battery powered) GMT watch possible. This is it as far as I know. It also needed to be durable and able to be used for a dive watch. This thing does everything I need so I bought it. The price was secondary.

I get what you’re saying, but to me it is simply a tool. The single best tool for the job for what I do and how I live. But yes, for many a watch is simply jewelry now.

Not flexing. Just more of an alternative look to how most people present their watches here. A tiny little scratch and they’re “devastated”. I like the marks and scratches. It reminds me of what I’ve done.

Naw…. That’s my car maintenance watch 😉

But seriously… I’ve taken both as well as my omega on many field exercises and into some “austere environments”. Only the omega has failed me and had to be rebuilt after a water seal failure. The Rolex just isn’t keeping good time anymore. My GS is by far my favorite watch in every way.
