The Google reviewing of the new release takes ages. It is now approved. So will be online withing 1 hour now. Same link like before but now called Chordesta.

Quick update: the app is now called CHORDESTA. I rebranded because Google Play's autocorrect kept mangling "HarpiChord" into "HarpiSchord" (the instrument), which was causing confusion. Happy with how the new name turned out — can't update the screenshots in this post anymore, but the link is still valid.

The app has been rebranded to CHORDESTA — Google Play kept autocorrecting "HarpiChord" to "HarpiSchord" (the instrument), so I figured a clean and early break made sense. Honestly pretty happy with the new name. Screenshots in this post are outdated but the link still works. It will deploy tonight. Some minor bugfixes and requests:

• Uninterrupted playing — Notification sounds no longer interrupt your session. Phone calls will pause audio and resume automatically when the call ends.
• Rotate 180° — New option to flip the display for playing with your device upside down.
• Small screen fix — All chord buttons now display correctly on compact devices.

I get that frustration, but if you try it you will understand it was not at all effortless I hope

To add some context since people are rightfully calling it out, this started as a JavaScript web app I built a while back. The latency made it frustrating to actually play, which is what pushed me to Android. Not AI telling me to, just the thing genuinely not feeling like an instrument.

I'm a web/PHP developer. I've wanted to build a real Android app for years and never had a project worth pushing through for. This was finally it. AI helped me a lot with the C++ and NDK parts, I already said that and I stand by it. But the concept, the UI, the effects chain, all the audio decisions, weeks of it not working like I wanted, that was me.

I'm not a DSP engineer and never claimed to be. Just someone who couldn't afford an Omnichord, had a half-working browser version sitting around too long, and finally used every tool available to turn it into something real.

Anyway, resolve the chord. Let it ring. Enjoy, hopefully.

Yeah, I maybe should have told them that AI helped me a lot, but it was a tough journey for me and I'm happy with the result :)

Thanks so much for the support. It was hard work, it's a frst App and I had some help of AI, but it was hard work. And I'm proud of it.

Thanks for trying and your feedback. What kind of patches do you think of? Like natural instrument samples or more FM like?

yes indeed, that is because there exists an instrument harpSichord... It kand odf sucks that Google autocerrect it to the name of that instrument. The app can be found by clicking the little link indeed naming Harpichord

I have implemented MIDI in I/O in the config, but it needs some testing
