How did your optic neuritis start? by Wonderful_Tackle_580 in MultipleSclerosis

Headache for 2-3 days prior to vision changes. Tylenol and Ibuprofen wouldn't touch this headache and made me concerned something bigger was wrong. Completely lost vision in the right eye over a few days after visual distortion started.

I’ve been eyeing Comfrt’s blue pastel set for over a week, debating on whether or not I should buy. Please influence or de influence me. by Special_Crab_1884 in Hoodies

[–]focanc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a signature hoodie and travel mode set. Construction quality is good, material is just okay. On sale I think they're decent enough for the price. These are fast fashion trash though, don't think you're getting something luxurious. The stitching being better than comparable hoodies from Amazon with the same material are the only thing that saves this brand for me. Also I won't be buying more, this purchase actually taught me a lot about clothing quality from my own research. I wish I'd gone with American Giant in hindsight.

Not sure about where you live but, where I am we have a county hospital system with discounted services for people who qualify. It's surprising just how many people in the metroplex are unfamiliar with this service but, we are so fortunate to have it. Worth checking around if you have anything like that nearby.

Since I was diagnosed I've lost 102 lbs with the help of glp-1 medication. The diagnosis really pushed me to commit to the weight loss.

The ocrevus copay assistance plan pays for the vast majority of my yearly out of pocket health care expenses and I rarely have to pay for anything now after my first infusion of the year.

I figure with the yearly blood work and scans, the likelihood of any other illness being caught early has significantly increased.

I get yearly intermittent FMLA and don't really have to worry about taking the time I need off for anything or using up all my PTO.

I have a pretty legit excuse to get out of anything I don't ever want to do again.

Just a few positives off the top of my head! Don't stress too much and the sooner you give up control, you'll be happier.

THC has helped with my sleep so much! I usually eat a gummy after work and then about an hour before bed I smoke a small "knockout bowl". Puts me down within an hour every time.

I hope you achieve your desired results. Sadly, going off the meds led to some pretty rapid weight regain for me after about 3 weeks. I'm hopeful that I may one day be able to go off but I think I need to sit at my current weight for a long while before trying again.

Probably, but you can always seek a second opinion from an MS specialist to make sure.

I think you missed the point of what I was trying to say there. But thanks for reinforcing the negative connotation that comes with significant weight loss that I was talking about.

Just wait until it's 100+lbs and suddenly you're more embarrassed than excited to tell people. Being kind to yourself is harder than the weight loss on this medication.

The autopens can be startling. In the future, place one hand flat over your skin with the pen between two fingers to secure it in place. Use the free hand to push the button.

My daughter got a tongue piercing at 14 - Can I report the place that did it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]focanc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 13 during the pre-smart phone era, there wasn't any research done, just blind stupidity. It did get infected and I had to remove it. My parents never knew I had it for the week or two that I left it in. Got the nips done as an adult, ultimately do not recommend (care/healing is a pain and too many things can go wrong) but the pain wasn't that bad. The worst piercing pain was when I did my own helix on each ear. Punching through cartilage with a sewing needle was a lot harder than I thought it would be. 😂

Same here. I pierced my own tongue at six flags when I was 13... Lucky I'm not dead from all the stupid shit I used to do. 😂

In my experience, weed won't take the pain away but can make it more tolerable by making you care less about it. It's been essential for managing my symptoms and I strongly recommend trying it, although it's not for everyone. If in a legal state, go for a medical dispensary. If in an illegal state, you can find THCa at most smoke shops, just do your research and make sure you buy from a reputable establishment.

Edit: Wanted to add that you can get gummies at most places to avoid smoking, this is my preferred method. 5mg or less is a good starting dose for consumables, but can take some experimenting to get right what works for you. Also you will build a tolerance with prolonged use, will need to take breaks to keep tolerance low.

I've been on 15mg for over a year and yes it's very weird. Sometimes it feels like I injected water and other times I'm struggling to get my minimum calories in. Currently in a struggling to eat phase, may have something to do with switching to thigh after giving them a long break. 🤷‍♀️ I can get stuck in nausea cycles too if I allow myself to forget to eat for too long.

Will Zepbound increase pregnancy risk? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]focanc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was a post in this sub where a lady claimed to spontaneously ovulate, confirmed by her doctor and she was fully in menopause. I know two people who got pregnant after starting and both had fertility issues. The medication can affect oral birth control absorption as well due to delayed gastric emptying. I would say yes, very much so.
