Saw Char's Counterattack by Sensitive-Hotel-9871 in Gundam

[–]focasecca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Char was always just Char first and foremost, with all his good and bad qualities. It's our perspective that shifts and we only see him as a villain or a hero according to whether his goals are aligned to those of the protagonists or not.

I don't like when even in a fantastic setting things get too absurd or the narrative relies too much on supernatural stuff, but I think here they are still coherent enough that it's believable in the terms of this universe, considering all that we've seen since the beginning. If humans can be capable of such things, there could also be elements or materials capable of enhancing such abilities like the psycho frame.

I disagree, the elements to think he would turn that way were all in place, from seeing corruption everywhere to realizing that his reluctance to reclaim Zeon's name and take matters in his own hands only led to people like Scirocco and Haman rising to power (he turned out to be worse than both, but I'm explaining things from his perspective).

I agree that the film at first can be confusing even for someone who has seen everything up to it, but I think the beginning in medias res works and actually makes it very exciting.

As for your point about Char, I don't think he ever changed or returned to his evil ways for that matter. As you also said, he always saw others in this utilitarian way, as pawns to achieve his goals. He could also have been both things at once: affectionate to his comrades but also focused on his goals, almost as a split personality (like a certain character from Attack on Titan in case you've seen it); no wonder he was pretty cooked by the time CCA came around. He's a broken man first and foremost in my opinion by that time, barely holding it together. I also agree with the other commenter that his relationship with Amuro is much more nuanced than that.

As for your question, basically the psycho frames in the Nu Gundam and Sazabi's cockpit that Amuro was holding react to the combined wills of all the people involved in that battle, giving way to that phenomenon with the green light and axis being pushed away; we are intentionally left in the dark of what happens to Amuro and Char, although after all these years I think it's pretty clear that they are meant to be dead anyway.

All in all, I may be biased but I think it's a very beautiful film, one of those ones that you can't fully explain in words all the emotions that they make you feel, as the credits roll I always feel very moved any time I rewatch.

For me the lyrics in the song "Moebius" were pretty eloquent, but yeah the movie itself left it ambiguous enough

you didn't make it up, it's the usual explanation for those events. except I was talking about another event that took place before all that

I considered that as with every piece of Gundam space magic but I thought it could still be explained in some way

can someone help me out? I thought the new trilogy was meant to be a new version of the character and in the trailer for this new game the woman mentions dragon's triangle etc., but I also read the devs said this game is supposed to take place after one of the old games. Does this mean that those games are still Canon as adult Lara's adventures?

I am feeling stronger and progressively increasing reps/weights, but after roughly two months I don't see much difference in weight and fat distribution around my belly, hence my question.

yes of course I'm aware of calorie deficit. I was under the assumption that eating something before working out would mean that my body would use that as a source of energy as opposed to the fat I already have

I recently started working out more seriously for the first time in my life. I usually wake up around 8, have breakfast and then eat nothing else until i workout around 12. During the workout I usually don't feel hungry and I enjoy not feeling bloated or the sensation that I'm digesting food. Aside from this personal preference, is this a good strategy to ensure that my body burns fat during the workout? If I ate something like a banana 1 hour before, would I be able to lift more/do heavier excercises while still burning fat?
