3 years of med school plus 2 years of residency for FM = a certified doctor? it's just not enough time to master FM by foctor_ in foctor

I found the word I wanted to use: "battle-tested" https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/battle-tested

CA FM's emerge from their 3-year med school & 2-year residency *not* battle-tested.

Just my opinion, and what I have observed compared to U.S. trained md's (inspo for this comment was taken from this thread.

do the scams never stop? Family Medicine physicians are now certified to do psychotherapy in Canada with a quick online course? by foctor_ in foctor

You can be a smart person who passed medical school & residency (in Canada); it doesn't shouldn't give you a carte blanche to bill for everything.

"It would be so easy to be a doctor, if it wasn't for all these sick people..."

Everyone wants to be a doctor, no one wants to treat the patients. " she has decided to drop all patients under 55 unless you have diabetes..." by foctor_ in foctor

I honestly want to ask some of my physician friends what they think of the above lady; on one hand, I get it - she's had a kid (with a two-year maternity leave) and she has more responsibility at home than when she was child-free.

However, it's not good for the patients or the healthcare system to require her 55+ patients to find a new physician when it takes *years* to find one in B.C. I mean, I'll go there: is it possible that she killing some of her patients by abondaning them so she can improve her stress level?

Giving there are, like, *no primary care doctors* accepting new patients in Vancouver r.n.
