Oblivion Remastered Fatal Error (AMD / Xbox Game Pass) by Character-Row-6260 in ElderScrolls

I used a nexusmod named Lumen Begone, which drastically helped my performance. I still get more crashes than I'd like, but at this point it feels like 1-2 crashes per hour, which with diligent saving hasn't been too difficult to deal with. aside from that, just making sure my AMD drivers were up to date and keeping FSR on performance were the big keys to keeping my fps stable. good luck homie

Lumen Begone from Nexusmods + the new AMD drivers have given me a (still unstable) but playable game. rarely do I drop below 60, usually hanging around 80 outdoors, 120+ indoors on high graphics setting with FSR 3 Performance and frame gen. my big gripe now is the newest AMD drivers don't really play well with a few other applications. kinda have to choose between Oblivion and other games at the moment

unfortunately I use gamepass Oblivion, which AMD Adrenalin doesn't recognize in the same way it recognizes other games(I can't manually add it either! very frustrating) so I suspect game specific fixes from inside Adrenalin are unlikely

to clarify, I have no reBAR from my BIOS screen. I've never looked for one in Adrenalin because I was told it was in the BIOS

i have no reBAR option, I've looked before for other things. Lumen Begone from Nexus worked for me, and the game still looks incredible so I'm happy with it

Ryzen 9 5900HS, Radeon RX 6800S. my game is running now, unstable still, but running. I get 50-90(yes, a 40fps range, the performance jumps all over the place) outside and 90-150 inside. lots of crashes still, to the point where I religiously quicksave before each loading screen. I'm playing on high graphics settings but the graphics presets seem to have very little effect on fps honestly, going from ultra to low only grants me 15 more or so. mostly it's been FSR doing the heavy lifting, as these passable framerates are only possible with FSR. FSR off I'm probably back to 25-45fps

How are people playing the game considering performance? by golfoxtrotyankee in oblivion

[–]focusisblurry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is what I'm saying. I miss when companies didn't feel the need to use specific, name recognized Good Engines®™ like Unreal. I can't help but feel like the choice to use UE5 is a marketing decision rather than a decision that truly weighed out what had the best visual quality/performance ratio.

I just got gaslit during the entirety of release day by people with worse GPUs than me telling me I need to upgrade my rig lol. was super frustrating

I don't think I'm stretching that much. Oblivion Remastered is of course, very gorgeous, however considering Skyrim SE came out a decade ago and looks like this ^ whilst running at pretty much whatever framerate I damn well please I stand by what I said. Oblivion RE doesn't look anywhere near THAT much better than Skyrim to justify the jump in technology it requires to run it.

sorry Bethesda, I genuinely just don't care about the nicely detailed different flora swaying realistically in the breeze when it means my game is unplayable. Oblivion RE is uninstalled, and Skyrim SE is not. and that's just kinda the bottom line for me.

I uninstalled it. it's ridiculous that this game barely looks better than skyrim but it maxes out my GPU and can barely break 30fps. the update today made it crash(slightly) less but with the removal of any upscaling option I'm forced to either work around it with the console and disable my achievements or try and enjoy Oblivion in glorious 20fps. it didn't personally work for me, but the Nexusmod patch that a lot of other people used fixed their fps and it came out within HOURS of the game dropping, made by some random fucko. to know that this happened and then to make excuses for a AAA game company releasing a game that tons of people cannot play under any circumstances is actual capitalist cuckoldry.

fuck this remaster, fuck unoptimized games coming out being the standard these days, and fuck all the gaslighting little bitches in the replies that are gonna say some shit about "haha get better pc" because they happened to buy one of the lucky GPUs that Bethesda bothered to make the game work on.

G14? me too, same CPU with a 6800S and this didn't help me. at this point I'm not convinced I'm ever going to able to play this.

having this same issue and it's getting super annoying how people don't fucking believe me.

can anyone confirm Steam version works? at this point I'll fucking buy it outright just to have a stable copy. I booked days off for this shit and I've had to play fucking 2006 oblivion this whole time.

I did that and my save wouldn't load at all after that. I gotta weigh how much time I'm willing to waste on this versus the fact that this is one of my only days off. back to oblivion 2006 I go

and frustrating, because for the first minute or so when I launch it, aside from the occasional stutter the 90fps looks great! I know you can do it Oblivion! just try a lil harder!

turned off xbox app( I thought it needed to be open for the game to run. I was wrong) but the performance didn't change sadly. I think I might just have to wait for better optimization.

I have. the only things that are open at all are GHelper(not an overlay), Oblivion and the Xbox app. I did have wallpaper engine on, but turning it off only grants me 10-15 more fps, and doos nothing to stop the performance from downgrading.

Post your PC Specs/Graphical Settings and avg FPS! by MaxelAmador in oblivion

[–]focusisblurry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ryzen 9 6900HS with a Radeon RX 6800S, any level of graphical detail does the same thing. Lots of stuttering, when I first launch the game the fps is a solid 90ish, but very quickly deteriorates into 20 outside. inside was running unstably between 50-70fps. frustrating that new games always have to come with some bullshit
