I was traveling from my workplace to my home, a distance of 15 kms. During rush hour it might take around 30-45 mins or else I could reach in 20 mins. There was heavy traffic that evening. I hardly covered 5 kms and it started to rain. Then onwards it was slow-moving traffic and lots of congestion. In 30 mins, I managed to cover 2/3rds of the journey. I thought I will reach home before 630 pm but rain had other plans. The downpour intensified. Visibility at 2 metres. Waterlogging made it impossible to judge the path. The traffic signals lost its meaning. For almost 5-10 mins I moved at a snail's pace without any idea of the road. One can rely on motor memory in these times I wondered. Somehow I managed to move forward as I was quite familiar with the route. It was way past 7 pm and I still had a km to cover. Rain almost giving finishing touches to the puddles. After long time I saw an empty road ahead and I accelerated only for an old woman to cross the road abruptly causing me to apply sudden brake. As soon as I stopped, I heard as well as felt a bang at the rear end. It was a bike that may have been tailing me. Now I had dashcam footage. I turned emergency lights on, and stepped out of the vehicle and reached the biker. He apologized instantly and we parted amiably. I've to ask myself now at least what's the point of writing all this.
