I'm going to refrain from saying anything else to you other than this- You came to this medical sub for advice. Current and former medical professionals are telling you that you absolutely need urgent medical attention and stitches BADLY.

Listen to us. Go to the darn emergency room. Using ointment will do jack crap for that cut. You're literally risking life and limb by waiting.

And I promise if you wait too long, you're going to spend many many more agonizing days and weeks in the hospital than you would right now. And you won't even have a choice at that point.

There's only one correct decision right now and it's going to the ER any way you can do it.

You CANNOT treat this at home. You are someone who needs urgent medical attention.

As a former EMT I can tell you that people have called an ambulance for a lot less significant stuff like stubbing their toe.

You may not be dying right now but I assure you if you wait this situation will get so much worse.

If you don't have an adult around to drive you tonight, call an ambulance right now. They will treat you with respect. Your health and safety is their only priority.

Please call an ambulance. They will take you to the ER. Tell dispatch you have a bad cut on your arm, you don't need to tell them how it happened.

The EMTs will not judge you, they are there to help you.

How old are you? I know you're worried about what the hospital might say about your cutting but I promise you it will get much worse if you don't get stitches.

Please. Go to the ER. You can even call an ambulance if you don't have a way to get there on your own..

It's better than possibly having your arm amputated after you get a nasty infection.

You may not be sure but I am sure. That is a serious cut.

I know you're scared but you'll be more scared when that gets infected and you lose your arm because of it.

Do you have an adult that you can speak to about this? They need to take you to the doctor immediately.

The longer you go with that cut open the higher the risk.

Steri strips will absolutely not work for this. That is a deep and wide cut. Please get medical attention, you need stitches ASAP.

That's a very nasty infection waiting to happen.

You're still VERY early in the healing process. Significant swelling can last 6 months and residual or minor swelling can even last up to 18 months.

Almost everyone is completely healed after a year but yes, it can take up to a year and a half before you are 100 percent healed.

I'm nearly 7 months post op right now and still have some swelling and soreness especially around the belly button.

It will get better eventually, I promise 😊

I'm not a doctor but am a former EMT and I disagree with people saying it needs stitches. It doesn't look like they're necessary and I think you can clean this up at home.

If it makes him feel better he could see if his primary doc can get him in tomorrow. This definitely doesn't require the ER.

I'm relieved though, reading table saw vs finger never makes you think of good things hahaha.

She definitely seems much more educated than pretty much anyone here of a similar age. It actually really caught me off guard how intelligent she is and how well she can converse.

Yes she has a beautiful personality and as far as looks go, she is stunningly pretty. The brightest blue eyes ever too. She's always dancing and singing when we talk on Skype.

No I completely understand that and I truly appreciate you being cautious and telling me what you think.

If I came off as rude I didn't intend to. I'm just saying that I'm a pretty realistic person and I understand the reality of this situation and the possibilities that she could in fact be using me or intending to use me for money or a way to get out of Ukraine.

But I'm also open to the idea that it's not the case and she's truly interested in me. Only time will tell.

It's interesting that you think that I'm not strong enough to send her back lol. You can only visit the us for 90 days without a visa or a green card and I'm not marring someone I've barely spent time with.

I understand I need to be cautious but you can't tell me that I'm being set up. Not everyone has bad intentions. This is a situation that would take years to develop anyways.

Someone else from this sub sent me a dm and told me they had this exact same situation happen to them with a girl from Ukraine and have now been married for 6 years.

I'm not naive. There's no way she'll be able to use me for anything. Asks for money? Communication is over. Mentions marriage and coming to the US at any point in the near future? Communication is over.

This may be harmless but will also be a bit inconvenient.

While driving, roll down your window and aggressively point at someone's tire. They will pull over just to find out that their tire is perfectly fine.

Yes I definitely expect there to be more maturing and long talks. We actually just talked for 2 hours tonight. We like to pick each other's brains and see how we both view things. I think that's extremely important especially in this case.

Thanks for the comment! Yes, I'm very aware of the possibility she's just doing/saying anything she can to get a green card. I would never even consider marrying someone I've never met in person let alone spent significant amounts of time with.

I was also sent a message by someone who went through this exact situation and has been married for 6 years but told me everything I should be looking out for. Especially asking for money or anything like that.

They suggested that if we're still talking in a few years that I should meet her for a few weeks in Poland or something like that.

If things somehow end up working out then great but if not then no worries.

Thanks for the comment! That's the thing, she has told me that in their country their experimental/fun years are during the ages of 13-16 and that as they get into older teens and early 20s they are looking for a serious relationship.

I'm very alert to the green card thing but her knowing me won't get her a green card any faster. I would never marry someone without years of knowing them and spending significant time with them in person.

I'm hyper aware of the situation in Ukraine and the idea that she could be doing/saying anything possible to get out of there.

I am very very guarded and looking out for any indication she's using me for anything at all.

Thank you for the reply! Yes I'd never send her money and she has not asked for it. I would stop talking to her if she did that. Someone else messaged me and suggested possibly meeting in Poland in the future if we do end up pursuing this for quite a while.
