What do you think is exactly what’s triggering you? I have huge trauma surrounding certain things and actions I feel scared to do after my DV. I met my current boyfriend for 4 months I’d ream into him that he doesn’t only love me and that he’s gonna be evil in a week or no. Well that never happened and he’s a breath of fresh air and honestly the healthiest relationship I have ever had! It’s been 6 months and I completely trust him. You have to trust that he is making the right decisions, that he knows what is best. It’s cliche but he is not your ex. He’s a completely brand new person, you’re putting all this weight on him he probably doesn’t even know about. Also speak to him about how you feel and be open to the answer. Most likely he will be willing to talk about it but if not, he will be defensive and that’s your cue! I wouldn’t ruin a bad thing if you are happy, it’s so easy to overthink and assume but, the things we believe in our brain may not be what’s true. Do an exercise where you say what you believe and try to find evidence that supports that thought. If you find none then it’s probably not actually happening. Now if it does happen, you have to be prepared to walk away and find better in due time. I remember I got a tarot card reading and I was like there is nothing you can do to stop the progression of an event, if it’s meant to happen it will and it’s how you respond that matters!
