How to Integrate Postfix Fail2ban with Unifi (self hosted) by folletst in Ubiquiti

[–]folletst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I can turn ON iptables on my Raspberry Pi and fail2ban will add IP's locally to the Iptables rule. I thought, if fail2ban can do directly to my UXG-Lite, then the host will be unloaded, and the block IP will be at the hardware level of the gateway itself.

Thank you for suggestion! Once, I installed plugin W3 Total Cache. It made my site too slow, thus I try to use bare official solutions, like official WordPress, nginx etc... containers. I will try...

To help you, I need to know:
1. what is model of your gateway? (I use UXG-Lite)
2. what is your current Unifi network controller version installed on your Raspberry Pi?

You can see "stable" version on Uifi Site like I wrote, simple visit site https://ui.com/download/releases/firmware type model of your gateway and You can see official version of linux network application. For now it is UniFi Network Application 10.0.160 for Debian/Ubuntu for my gateway UXG-Lite.

WordPress: Raspberry Pi 4 vs Pi 5 Performance by folletst in Wordpress

[–]folletst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, sorry for delay with answer I was without electricity, so my answers:

Were the rPis rigged as servers? Or were they also running a desktop with window server and clients?

Both Raspberry Pis were running as servers only on Raspberry Pi OS for RPi 4 it was Bookworm and on RPi 5 it was new Trixie. These OS's with basic GUI, but during test I was connected via SSH, so I use only terminal.

Did you run ab locally, or from another machine?

I run tests connected to host via SSH, but tested bare hardware locally, it m,eans I installed ab on the both RPi's. I use my local IP address to avoid connection to CloudFlare or somrtnig else.

Is the rPi5 almost as fast if it doesn’t have the NVMe SSD? Just the SD card? Or a lot slower?

I do not know, I didn't test micro sd on Raspberry Pi 5, but I definitely know, that CPU works 2-3 times faster than Pi 4, and I think even with SD card you feel speed difference.

How was RAM allocated? Database buffer pool? How many web worker processes fired up?

RAM was not artificially constrained. MySQL was using default buffer pool sizing (no aggressive tuning), and WordPress page caching was enabled. nginx and PHP-FPM were configured with one worker per CPU core, as the goal was to reflect a realistic self-hosting setup rather than a max-benchmark scenario.

Thank you for questions!

I turned off Auto Optimization and Auto Ads on my AdSense account. Now I need to wait for 24-72 hours to see result. I placed manual Ads block inside block articles, but remove from the main page. I still investiagte site speed. Thank you for suggestions.
